Too many bitcoiners are sleeping on it with the lazy take: "we'll find a better solution for the spam later." Here's what they don't get: there is no later. Spam doesn't wait for your perfect fix. It compounds. Every block of unchecked data bloat makes the chain heavier, the sync longer, the hardware costlier. This isn't linear growth,it's exponential. And exponential problems have a nasty habit of becoming unsolvable overnight. The endgame? No pleb can afford to run a full node. Not on a Raspberry Pi. Not on a home server. Not without a data center budget. So the node count collapses from tens of thousands down to a handful of enterprise-grade operators. And guess who loves that outcome? The same institutions that want Bitcoin as digital gold ,a sterile store of value, locked in vaults, never moving, never threatening the status quo. They don't want peer-to-peer electronic cash. They want a pet rock that preserves USD hegemony by removing the threat of a real medium of exchange. BIP 110 isn't perfect.
