So, Keynes’s general theory of employment was described as revolutionary and massively impactful, but as I learn more, I keep thinking what a short, critical discussion may unearth……. Nostr reads; the perfect outlet for work I’m interested in, but likely no one will read it. Hmmmm, could I go super irony and ask @Stackchain ⛓ Magazine if they’ll be interested…..

When instructed in the truths of economic theory “will realise that a policy which holds wage rates rigid when the equilibrium rate has altered, is a policy which creates unemployment” Professor Lord Lionel Robbins (the Great Depression, 1935). And the call is consistently to “increase the minimum wage” But when the current crop of politicians is based around the thinking of Keynes, solid and robust financial logic may go out of the window…… and so onto The General Theory, “there seems to be no record of how he made one of history’s major intellectual discoveries”………. Were there some puppeteers behind the scenes?!?!

What? Kami Kwasi is involved in a Bitcoin treasury play? If there was ever a red flag or a top signal, this may be it. image

Oh my, in 1929, UK unemployment when from 10% to 21% in 1931. Today unemployment is “around 5%” but strangely and spookily, the proportion of “inactive adults” is also 21%!!!!!! If the 1929 situation led us into a decade of slump, imagine from nearly 20 years of limping along, followed by the upcoming budget will do. Hold on tight freaks. This budget likely “made things much worse”

Ga nostriches, great show from @BTC Sessions reminding me that 3 years ago we had just hit the bottom of the bear, ftx imploded sentiment was pretty dark, buy orders were being put in for $10k, we were definitely going lower. Price hit a lot of $15,834 3 years ago today!!!! This was the pico bottom. Don’t get distracted by chop, news, fud, shitty academic research or fiat mine bollocks. We’re cheering buying “cheap sats” at $95k, dudes think about that for a moment, that’s a cool 6x from this bottom. image

Gm nostriches, prepping taxes for spending Bitcoin is annoying, and thievery for doing well, HOWEVER, being having to go back to early purchase, you can really get an idea of how far we’ve come front, how little what you’re spending now cost you “back in the day!!!!! A little while back I bought ice cream for myself and my two daughters, 11k sats, they cost me 80p in 2020, or getting some shit hot @Leathermint products for £80!!!! With this, I’m going to stop caring about the capital gains and not think of it as a tax paid to government, but the price I’m willing to pay for getting sats in the hands of people I want to pay!!! Also, moving forward and depending who I pay, can just do non kyc sats and just keep it person to person and “off the books”, so long as there are some figures in my tax return, there won’t be as much risk of them coming to calll.

Found a book at my mother’s house, a couple of chapters in, Marx, Ricardo and Malthus have already been covered, the questions raise on micro economics are fascinating. Can’t help feeling there are some parallels between Keynes and Epstein, how someone rises to such a high level of power, connected to so many powerful people from a very low level. He appeared to be a smart guy (academically), but his ideas certainly met fertile ground with the post crash years (1930s), so may have been something to do with politicians hearing ideas that gave them power. Epstein on the other hand, had a whole lot of dirty laundry to blackmail people, but also found people who were deprieqved and would do his bidding to keep their secrets out of the public light. Really interested in explore Keynes a little more, but maybe go for “unapproved” biographies, doubt many will include the “bed and boy” line that @Saifedean Ammous included. image

“Attlee Nationalised personal responsibility with the introduction of the welfare state” Ewan Stewart on @Peter McCormack great show, absolutely loving it. Gm freaks, have a good one, fight the good fight, work hard, try and pay as little tax a possible. The government is not your friend, they are the abuser, don’t feed the abuser.
