I admit, I am still learning and sometimes forgetting. I didn’t realize this before, but if enough Bitcoin nodes use spam filters, those transactions really do become more fragile on the network. They’re harder to relay to miners, though once mined they’re as valid as anything else. You could call that censorship, but I see it more as people choosing how they want their own node to behave. Bitcoin gives that freedom — to filter or not to filter — and that’s part of its strength. It also means people can run full nodes on smaller systems without needing massive storage just to keep up with unnecessary data.
