Just finished Frankenstein. It is probably one of my favorites.
Victor Frankenstein is a fragile ponce whose every sensitivity is attended to by people in his orbit of privilege. He carelessly creates a monster who sees, with crystal clarity, the insouciance that carries Victor from one blameless act to the next. And the monster offers only judgement and no pity.
Influencers draw attention by posting things that sound like advice or deep life insights, but they are really just carefully crafted engagement hacks to illicit inadequacy anxieties. By feeling threatened, you are more likely to engage with agreeable action (to signal that you are not inadequate) or defensive action (to justify your life).
