Question: Does setting the OP_RETURN limit to 40bytes in Knots filter out both the mempool and blockchain OP_RETURN or just the mempool OP_RETURN? Thanks!

As October is just around the bend, Bitcoin Core v30 will be released. Since Bitcoin Core v30 removes proper filters from the mempool (memory pool) to protect Bitcion nodes from spam data (The Sovran Pro is a Bitcion node), Sovran Systems will not be updating its repository with Bitcoin Core v30. Sovran Systems will by default switch to Bitcoin Knots. Bitcoin Knots is a re-tooled version of Bitcoin Core and it keeps the filters in the software. All new Sovran Pros will default to Bitcoin Knots not Bitcoin Core v30. Folks currently running a Sovran Pro, you can reach out to me in the Support channel if you wish to remain on Bitcoin Core v30. I will show you how to do it in your custom.nix file in /etc/nixos/. It is quite easy.
