Mohamedou Ould Slahi was falsely imprisoned without charge and was tortured for 14 years at Guantanamo Bay. As of 2021, he was friends with Steve Wood, one of the guards at Guantanamo. Wood has visited Slahi since Slahi's release, even going so far as to sleep under Slahi's roof: an incredible act of trust, forgiveness, and love. Slahi is the godfather to Wood's child. If Slahi can do this, we all have work to do.
