Just got a Reddit notification. Someone is upset that they paid a "local influencer" $400 and the net result was zero calls. What's a "local influencer"? Influencers, in today's world, are usually on social media, in movies, on TV, make music, play sports, run for office, run major corporations, nations, or religions, etc. These people have global influence. They are influencers. Adding the modifier "local" in front of influencer, to me, is just a euphemism for "minor league" or "poor man's version of an". You got what you paid for. You think your local Walmart is going to see increased sales if they hire a minor league baseball player from a double A team to make an appearance? The only people who are going to talk to that guy are the people who were going to be shopping at that store on that day at that time anyways, and most of them are going to walk right past the guy and not care at all.
