This is about more than a salary. It’s about planting a seed for the future. Our The Surfer Kids assistant coaches and Bitcoin Ekasi teaching assistants are still in high school. They are not permanent employees they are young people getting an opportunity to work part-time, earn an income, and learn valuable life skills. Their salaries are denominated in sats (satoshis). Instead of simply receiving a rand amount, their pay is calculated and paid in sats. Why do we do this? Because we want them to experience Bitcoin, not just learn about it. We want them to understand what it means to earn, save, and think long-term. If they choose to save some of the sats they earn today, what could those sats mean for them in 5 or 10 years? We don’t know what the future price of Bitcoin will be. But we can give young people the opportunity to start saving today and learn the value of thinking about tomorrow. One sat at a time. The Surfer Kids were in action this past weekend at the Eden Junior Trials, at Vic-Bay and what a day it was! 🌊🏄‍♂️ With fun waves on offer all day, our surfers gave it everything they had, putting the hard work from training into practice. Fun day in Victoria Bay watching The Surfer Kids compete at the local Junior Trials. First of two events to select a district team, to compete at the South African Junior Champs in September. The kids surfed well, we should get a decent number of kids in the team for Jeffreys Bay!
