This is about more than a salary. It’s about planting a seed for the future. Our The Surfer Kids assistant coaches and Bitcoin Ekasi teaching assistants are still in high school. They are not permanent employees they are young people getting an opportunity to work part-time, earn an income, and learn valuable life skills. Their salaries are denominated in sats (satoshis). Instead of simply receiving a rand amount, their pay is calculated and paid in sats. Why do we do this? Because we want them to experience Bitcoin, not just learn about it. We want them to understand what it means to earn, save, and think long-term. If they choose to save some of the sats they earn today, what could those sats mean for them in 5 or 10 years? We don’t know what the future price of Bitcoin will be. But we can give young people the opportunity to start saving today and learn the value of thinking about tomorrow. One sat at a time. BIG NEWS!! Inam Falteni, long time participant in our Surf Program, was selected for the South African Junior Squad. The team will compete in the Junior World Surfing Games later this year. He was selected as a non-travelling reserve, meaning he will be part of squad training, but won't attend the tournament unless another team member can't make it. This is a major validation of the hard work we've put into developing the competitve side of our surf program.

🚨 The South African government is attempting to OUTLAW FINANCIAL FREEDOM. 🚫 Under the guise of "capital flow management," new draft regulations will effectively destroy self-custody and Bitcoin's promise of financial inclusion in our country. 🇿🇦 These aren't just rules for exchanges. They are a direct attack on EVERY South African.
