This is from all the crap I had to install to install a relay and I've tried to install 3 different relays and now i got all this crap. Is there a way to view everything as folders and files? Navigation in the terminal is painful, I don't even know the commands for finding things.

So after trying to troubleshoot the fact I hadn't replaced "username" with kayne for 3 hours. I used a capital K, and spent another half hour messing around before asking AI. Please someone tell me the nip 05 is actually working. I removed the relay that was on the server (I think, maybe it's just disabled) it was causing problems stopping the certificates because ot was using the ports. But I got the certificate a couple hours ago and I've been fucking around trying to get the nip 05 working. Tomorrow I'll try to set up a relay again. And think about what I actually want the url to lead to. I had to make it a blank page for now in order for clients to get passed the 403 error that it was showing earlier.

I figured out part of the problem, cart before the horse. The relay wasn't meant to be running until after everything else, and it was blocking everything else from accessing ports. This is after I thought I removed it, it's still there, but it's not running now. So I got the cert bot to get the certificate. But everything else keeps saying that file directories don't exist.

Half the morning wasted copy pasting shit into a terminal for it to continue not working. Can't even get the nip 05 because need some retarded certificate. Can't get certificate because Nginx won't work and keeps coming back with directory doesn't exist. No idea where to even find trouble shooting solutions. You're expected to already be a programmer and already know everything apparently.

I'm so glad I didn't buy hardware to run a nostr relay, it was the price of consumer data that put me off, I'd be paying more for phone credit to run it than the hardware would have cost. Trying to set up a VPS nostr relay was a much much cheaper way to fail at this. Nothing, not one single part of nostr is user friendly. Even if I can get it working tomorrow, I don't feel like it's worth it. Actually everything about nostr is starting to feel like a waste of time and effort. The only redeeming feature of nostr is that I can say fuck Israel without being censored. That's it, that's really the thing that's keeping me here, I can scream into the void and whether or not people respond, it stays there, in the void, in case I ever want to read it back to myself. That's the whole reason I'm interested in running a relay. But that's it for today, not going to think about it again until tomorrow.

How do I add myself or others to the relay? How do I get a web socket certificate for my relay? Where do I find the json file for nip 05? For now I want the domain to redirect my own npub on a web client, how do I do that?

So now I have to figure out what the fuck a name server is and how to link it to the domain name so that the IP can be linked to that. Absolutely no idea what I'm doing. Absolutely none of the guides I could find for setting up a nostr relay explain how any of this works or how to do it. The guide on the VPS server for how to connect the domain and the guide on the domain website are completely different and contradictory. Once I figure this out, next I gotta figure out what the fuck a web socket is and how to get some kind of certificate for it. Why is it like this? Why the fuck can't a nostr relay just be a fucking IP address? Why does it need a domain? Why can't clients just connect directly to the relays? I don't get it, it's all counter intuitive and frustrating.
