Bindii went down to the creek alone to have a drink and a munch on the molasses lick block. I hung around talking to her until the rest of the herd noticed and came down to check if I had more food. Bindii was my first heifer, I bought her about 6 months old from the mother of a 7 year old girl that bottle fed her from a day old. By far the cow I'm most emotionally attached to, she would pushing 9 years old now.

The two calves on the left are the orphans. The one on the right is Cutie-Pies calf. Good to see the three of them hanging out together.

The older orphaned calf was laying down in the shade alone, I was able to go down and give him some wheatbix after letting the herd back into the middle paddock to eat some lucerne and cow kibble I laid out for them. The other orphaned calf is eating grass, but was too startled when I threw wheatbix at it. Cutie-pies calf, similar age is best friends with the younger orphan calf so I think it will be fine as long as I can separate the 3 of them from the the rest of the herd while I'm feeding them, then her calf and the orphan can eat together. The older one is kinda tame, I can walk right up and touch him, but that may also be due to the fact he's weaker and conserving his energy, the older bulls bully him and he's been consistently alone away from the herd when I check on them. So I'll keep sneaking food to him as well. As the weather warms up and as long as we get some decent rain the rest of the herd won't need food supplementing.

Drove the feral cattle back out. After 3 days without access to water I expected them to leave on their own, but they were camped out in the shade still waiting. Beefy came for a run, he kept his distance and flanked them while I followed them up the fence line to the open gate. I really should have let him be a cattle dog, years ago he helped me round the cattle up and put them into the yards without asking, I scolded him for it, and he's kept his distance from them ever since, but he's smart enough he could have been a good cattle dog.
