Hot take but no one has ever "lost" their "Bitcoin" Because nobody has ever owned Bitcoin. You own your key, the coins don't exist, there are no Bitcoins. It's a database "of financial transactions" so it's closer to a credit system than actual money. Terms like wallet and mining are misleading and stupid. Referring to Bitcoin as if it was something physical is misleading and stupid. Better terminology would have resulted in far more adoption by now but we are stuck on all these nonsense terms that make it seem like it's something completely different from what it is.
