☕🥞 Coffee and Pancakes: The Perfect Rainy Day Tandem There’s something comforting about waking up to the sound of rain outside while holding a warm cup of coffee and a plate of fluffy pancakes. The cool weather makes you crave something sweet, warm, and satisfying — and this classic combination never fails to bring a little happiness to an ordinary day. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee blends perfectly with the buttery sweetness of pancakes. Each bite feels like a cozy hug, especially when enjoyed while watching the raindrops fall from the window. It’s a simple moment, but sometimes the simplest things bring the most comfort. Rainy days remind us to slow down, rest, and appreciate small joys — a quiet morning, a delicious meal, and a warm drink shared with loved ones. ☔💛 What’s your favorite rainy day comfort food or drink? image
Informed Decisions It’s human nature to want information with as much facts as possible before making decisions, so you can know what to expect before determining your course of action. For instance, before accepting a job, you want to know how much you’ll be paid, what the work environment is like, and if you like the people you’d be working with. Before purchasing a house, you pay for an inspection so you can know before you purchase just what repairs might be needed and how much they would cost - which allows you to make an informed decision before signing on the dotted line. Knowing the facts and being informed is not only prudent, but wise. It’s no different when it comes to spiritual things. God wants you to “know” what you believe by studying His Holy Word! It’s dangerous to blindly accept what others say about the Scriptures, and that includes your pastor! The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” God wants you to receive spiritual truth from your pastor, but He also wants you to search the Scriptures yourself - not just taking what is said as the “gospel truth.” He wants you to come to Him and allow Him to speak to your heart. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” Ask God for wisdom, guidance, and understanding before reading His Holy Word so you can start today making . . . informed decisions! Earnest, Heartfelt Prayer There are many different types of prayer, and many different ways to pray. Many think pray can only be heard if you are on your knees, but God hears your prayers whether or not you are kneeling, standing, sitting, driving in a car, or taking a shower. He hears prayers spoken aloud, whispered, or completely silent. Some pray out of sheer frustration when having difficulty completing a task, others when hoping for something good to happen, while still others pray with passion in sincere desperation of needing a Savior. God loves for you to talk to Him, and He is interested in every aspect of your life. He hears the trivial prayers such as losing your keys, and He hears your desperate cries for help! But He especially loves to hear earnest, heartfelt prayers that come from a deep desire to grow ever closer to Him. It’s important to be faithful in your prayer life, but it ceases to be “prayer” if it is done by habit alone. Don’t make the mistake of thinking prayer is best saved only for bedtime. All too often, at the end of a busy day, tired and exhausted, prayers can end up being mere babble, repetitive and meaningless. Without even realizing it, your mind has drifted to all the things you need to accomplish the next day. It’s good to pray at bedtime, but also pray throughout your day, and find that special time in your schedule - each day -  that you give to God… to really talk to Him, sharing your innermost thoughts, dreams, and desires - and don’t forget to praise Him! Text: Psalm 42:2, Psalm 141:2, Genesis 32:26, Matthew 5:6 image

Fun Fact: Did you know that Sotanghon Soup is a Filipino comfort food that reflects the mix of cultures in our cuisine? 🍲 Sotanghon, also known as glass noodles or cellophane noodles, came from Chinese influence. Over time, Filipinos made it their own by adding local ingredients like carrots, sayote, repolyo, chicken, and flavorful broth. 🥕 Carrots add natural sweetness and color, while providing beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. 🥗 Sayote is a humble vegetable that is low in calories and absorbs the delicious flavor of the soup. 🥬 Repolyo (cabbage) adds texture and nutrients while making the soup more filling. image
Fun Facts About Dragon Fruit 🐉🍓 It’s not actually a dragon’s fruit! 😄 Dragon fruit got its name because of its unique skin that looks like flames or dragon scales. It comes from a cactus family. 🌵 Unlike most fruits that grow on trees, dragon fruit grows on climbing cactus plants. The flowers are special. 🌸 Dragon fruit flowers are large, white, and usually bloom at night, which is why they are sometimes called “moonflowers.” There are different colors inside. ❤️🤍 Some dragon fruits have white flesh, while others have bright pink or red flesh. The taste is usually mildly sweet and refreshing. It’s packed with nutrients. It contains fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help support a healthy body. The tiny black seeds are edible. They add a slight crunch and contain healthy fats. image
🌧️ Rainy Days, Positive Ways: Finding Hope Even Under the Rain When it rains, many people immediately think of sadness, inconvenience, or gloomy days. But if we look deeper, rain is not only about dark clouds—it is also a symbol of growth, renewal, and hope. Rain gives life to plants, fills rivers, and prepares the earth for a fresh beginning. Life is the same. There are moments when we feel surrounded by challenges, but it doesn’t mean good things are no longer coming. Sometimes, we need to experience the rain before we can truly appreciate the sunshine. In the BCH Nostr community, challenges are like the rain. There may be quiet days, changes in rewards, or struggles with engagement, but these moments should not stop us from moving forward. Just like rain helps things grow, every challenge can help us learn, become stronger, and build a better community together. So instead of feeling sad when it rains, let’s use it as a reminder to stay grateful, share positivity, and support one another. After every rain comes a brighter day, new opportunities, and a fresh start. Stay positive, keep building, and keep spreading kindness in BCH Nostr. 🌧️💚 image

Fun fact about croissants: 🥐 Croissants may be famous as a French pastry, but their history is actually connected to Austria. The modern croissant was inspired by the Austrian kipferl, a crescent-shaped pastry, before French bakers developed the flaky, buttery version we know today. A good croissant gets its signature layers from lamination — repeatedly folding butter into the dough to create hundreds of thin, crispy layers. 🥐✨ My breakfast for today from Big Mommas's Artisan Pies & Co image

Arms of Love Everyone needs love, especially when feeling sad, lonely, or depressed. There’s something quite comforting about being held in a warm embrace by someone you love and trust. Suddenly life doesn’t seem so bad, and you don’t feel so helpless. So it is with God, for when you allow yourself to be wrapped in His arms of love, He will soothe your soul and give you a peace such as you have never known! God understands you more than anyone else, and He knows the very moment you feel too weak to even crawl, and tenderly He will pick you up and carry you. He will calm your fears, dry your eyes, and give you strength to go on. Truly, there is no better place to be than in the arms of Jesus! Reach out to Him today and dwell in His presence, and as you feel His arms of love, be assured that you have nothing to fear - God will take care of your every need! Choose to Shine Living a joy-filled life is the best witnessing tool you have! You can serve food at a soup kitchen, pass out literature, sing in nursing homes, or volunteer at homeless shelters, and all those things are good to do, but if you do it with a frown on your face, you will draw an inaccurate picture of who Jesus is and will miss out on the real joy of serving. God wants you to be a living witness. How others see you live speaks louder than if you preached a three-hour sermon. Are you kind, considerate, and compassionate, or are you selfish, always looking out for number one? Are you striving for a higher position at work, willing to step on others to get ahead? Are you wanting recognition for your accomplishments? Do you seek attention so that others can see your good works? Looking out for number one is not living the example Christ gave when it comes to serving others. You can be certain of this: selfishness will only shine light on ‘you,’ and it will prevent you from being a shining light for Christ. If you’re always seeking to be first, remember that at the foot of the cross, the ground is level. No one is lower or higher than you - except Jesus! The Bible tells us in Matthew 23:12, “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Shining for Christ means that others can see Jesus in you! Serve with humility, grace, and love. God sees even the smallest act of kindness, and He accepts these acts as if you were doing them for Him personally. Matthew 25:40 says, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” And Philippians 2:3-4 gives us this counsel: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Text: Ephesians 5:8, Daniel 12:3, 2 Corinthians 4:6, Acts 13:47 image
Fun fact: 🐟 Daing na bangus is usually marinated in vinegar, garlic, pepper, and salt before frying. The vinegar not only gives it its signature tangy flavor but also helps preserve the fish, making it a popular and practical Filipino breakfast favorite. It pairs perfectly with garlic rice and eggs for a classic silog meal. Dinner is Ready 🤗 image
