Watched Buffy the vampire slayer (1992) a horror/comedy/action directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui. Buffy, a high school cheerleader, meets a mysterious man named Merrick who tells her that she's the "chosen one" who's destined to kill vampires. She doesn't want to at first but ends up training with Merrick in order to slay a powerful vampire King. With the help of an outcast, Buffy has to save her classmates and accept her role. I have mixed feelings about this one. I wanted to like it because the show is so good. It's much better than the movie. The actress playing Buffy is a terrible casting (Kristy Swanson). Probably casted because she has a background in gymnastics and swimming. A lot of the combat scenes made absolutely no sense. She would do a few cartwheels before attacking, to showcase the athleticism. Just made it look less credible. The vampires also didn't look scary at all. Just fake teeth and makeup. Watch the show don't watch the movie. 5.5/10 #nodereviews
Watched the signal (2014) a psychological thriller directed by William Eubank. College students on a roadtrip are lured to a remote area by a hacker named Nomad. After a blackout, one of the students wakes up in a high security underground facility. A researcher, played by Laurence Fishburne, tells them they have been infected by an entity from outer space. We follow the main character who tries to find his friends and escape. The acting and cast in this one is excellent. Olivia Cooke (House of Dragons) plays one of the students. The atmosphere of the film is sterile and highly psychological. Wasn't expecting the twists in this one either. I enjoyed this one. 7.5/10 #nodereviews
Watched Green Room (2015), a horror thriller, directed by Jeremy Saulnier. A struggling punk rock band accepts a last minute show opportunity at a skinhead bar in the Oregon woods. This will let them earn enough gas money to get home. When they finish performing, they witness a brutal murder by mistake in the show's green room. Afterwards, they are detained by the cold blooded owner and his gang. The band is then forced into a desperate battle for survival at they try to fight their way out of the fortified club. Excellent performance by Sir Patrick Stewart as the owner. He usually plays good guys. It was interesting seeing him on the other side. 7.4/10 #nodereviews
