As usual, @Lyn Alden is the signal amongst all the noise.
Her presentation was excellent and I highly recommend everyone watch.
Nothing stops this train
Seeing all the clips from this shitcoin conference in Vegas makes me feel extremely grateful for nostr. I love that I can just hang out here with cool/smart people and ignore all the noise.
Anyways shoutout to @Erik Cason and @HODL for keeping it real with these retards.
While I am extremely glad the FDA has changed its stance on the COVID vaccines, this article is a blood boiler. As someone who's worked in clinical research for almost a decade I can tell you this is so intellectually dishonest and hypocritical (and yes, I acknowledge I'm still "part of the problem").
While I'm not a clinical expert, I understand how pharma and government contracting work from the business side. I'm here to tell you this whole thing was a grift from the jump. To most of us here on nostr this is common sense but a good chunk of the public at large still believes these covid vaccines are saving people to this day and shouldn't be pulled off the market.
Anyone with experience in research will tell you that AEs and SAEs are taken very very seriously in clinical trials. That all just went out the window in 2020. I get it, desperate times/desperate measures... but that is a childish mentality at this point. There has been an abundance of data out there for awhile that contradicts the narrative about these products but it's only now that the FDA is changing its tune. Simply put the government is acknowledging they have been lying to you for 4+ years.
"The FDA’s new Covid-19 philosophy represents a balance of regulatory flexibility and a commitment to gold-standard science. The FDA will approve vaccines for high-risk persons and, at the same time, demand robust, gold-standard data on persons at low risk." This statement is complete psychological manipulation and how history gets rewritten.
What this statement actually means is "Now that big pharma has secured a bag with impunity and it is no longer politically convenient to force this narrative, we will accurately align with scientific integrity and voice our concerns over the safety and efficacy of these products." It's like the scene from The Big Short where Goldman calls Michael Burry after ghosting him because they got the liability off their books and can now accurately value his short position because it is in their interest to do so.
This needs to be called out for what it is. I know @Marty Bent is still beating this drum but the message needs to get out there. Many people like Mary Talley Bowden & Jack Kruse have been saying this for a long time and have been completely shunned and threatened by the medical establishment. We cannot let this outright fraud and criminal behavior get swept under the rug. Unfortunately, we're the only adults in the room.
I don't really know what to do with all of this but if there is any way to keep this conversation in the zeitgeist I'm here for it.

We’re at the point in fiat society where everything is a straight up scam. I’ve noticed this a lot but it really hit me this morning.
I had to renew the registration for my shitty car that’s barely worth anything. I had to pay the DMV $160 for the property tax and registration fees (which is absurd in itself but I’m not even mad about that). When I went to pay online they hit me with an additional $3 service fee and $3 transaction fee. I don’t care about the extra 6 bucks but it’s the principle of this transaction. I have no choice but to pay these bullshit fees in order to not get pulled over for expired tags. Yet I’m the crazy libertarian person who sees this as theft??
Today every business and government is solely focused on how they, as the seller, can remove any and all agency from the buyer to extract wealth from them. You have no choice but to pay a bullshit fee if you want (or in this case are required) the good or service being providing.
Blah blah blah… bitcoin fixes this.
Hodlers are a type of psychopath that has never existed before. We will literally ride this thing to the grave. No other investors on the planet have this type of conviction.
Imagine a world full of people who don’t freak the hell out the second a market dips 3%
I need to get this rant out that nobody will probably read but I really like using Nostr as a place to timestamp my thoughts.
Just because you were an early adopter or got into Bitcoin for the "right" reasons does not make you holier than thou. It's mind boggling to me that people in this community act so shocked and appalled that the powers that be are starting to understand and get heavily involved in Bitcoin. Like what the fuck did you expect? Did you think corporations were not going to be greedy and opportunistic? Did you think governments were not going to seek more power Did you think individuals were not going to act in their own self interest?
The vibe I get from bitcoiners sometimes is just an echo chamber of people bitching about how "I want a revolutionary P2P electronic cash system that's going to change the world and undermine traditional power structures but also only want people who are morally and ethically aligned with me to use it too." Grow the fuck up with that childish mentality. Unfortunately, life is messy and everything is just a series of tradeoffs. We can't have our cake and eat it too. The mass adoption of bitcoin comes at the price of less cypherpunk bitcoiners and people who just want NGU. And I would argue that is still a net positive for the world.
I don't support war mongering nation-states or Wall Street as much as anyone else here on Nostr but we just need to accept the fact that "normies" have woken up to Bitcoin and are here to stay. At the end of the day, our role is to be the gatekeepers of what Bitcoin is and will become. We are the adults in the room. The perfect example is this current OP_RETURN debate. Nobody in the corporate or government world is talking about this issue because frankly they don't care. It's only a conversation amongst the stewards of the network and node runners. This is our burden to bear. So let's focus on what we can control and quit worrying about shit outside of our control.
Remember, just like participation in the Bitcoin network, participation in any derivative built on top of Bitcoin is OPTIONAL.
You don't like Saylor? Cool, don't buy MSTR.
You think BTC treasury companies are a scam? Cool, keep stacking sats on your coldcard.
You think Coinbase sucks? Cool, use River or Strike.
You think governments acquiring bitcoin is a bad idea? Cool, talk to your representative if you feel so strongly about it.
I probably just need a break from the internet for a while and am open to the idea I might be off base about this stuff... but please just quit trying to keep bitcoin in this ethically pure box.
Imagine having to ask the government for permission to use “your” money. We’re gradually moving towards a dystopian nightmare.

Casey Means being nominated for Surgeon General is not good. While I’m totally on board with the ethos of MAHA, I don’t trust the Means siblings worth a damn.
Nostr is the modern day punk rock and I fucking love it.
The traditional antiestablishment/DIY mindset of the OG punk scene has become watered down and commodified. The powers structures the movement once railed against now sell the aesthetic of being counterculture to the masses. It’s mainstream to have tattoos and piercings. Your local Starbucks is full of people who think they’re raging against the machine while drinking a shitty latte and posting a story on instagram about how Elon is a nazi (without understanding what that actually means).
Meanwhile, participating in a decentralized communication protocol is truly radical.

YOU CAN JUST DO THINGS
What’s so weird is that I probably know more about economics than most people in my day to day life yet all of a sudden everyone has become a tariff expert.
I don’t know shit about tariffs.
But now economics is really important to you huh?? You really understand all the nuances of global trade?
It shows me who I need to keep at a distance.
Signal is high on nostr rn 🤙🏼🤙🏼
