This cat lives at a metro station and went viral online because someone stole his bed. Everyone felt sorry for him, so people started bringing a new bed, food and toys to the station. But he gained a lot of weight. And now they’ve put up a sign on the wall saying, he is on a diet, please don’t give wet food ahahahahahaha image

I want to thrift unique pieces in Istanbul and sell them on depop, curate my own shop. It feels creative. A combination of everything I love. I get genuinely excited when I think about it but paypal is banned in Turkey. :))))))))))

Turkish is a really complex language. Sometimes I have to read words slowly to make sure I’ve added all the correct suffixes. I just wrote “anlamamalarına,” which means something like “for their not understanding.” Breakdown of the suffixes: anla → to understand ma → not ma → the act of / -ing lar → they (plural) ı → their (possessive) na → to / for

There is a tradition called the Ramadan drummer. During Ramadan, after midnight, drummers walk through neighborhoods to wake people up for sahur. I especially like the ones who have a good sense of rhythm. image

Sometimes it is difficult to explain to normative people that I do not reject their norms because I think they are wrong but because I do not see norms as transcendent or ontologically grounded principles. Rather, I understand them as relationships that become temporarily stabilized within specific actor-networks; so, I do not believe in a single, fixed ontological norm.
