Rocannon's World by Ursula K. Le Guin I’ve decided that I’m going to read every Ursula K. Le Guin book in publication order. Rocannon’s World was the first one. The story follows Rocannon, who is conducting an anthropological study on the planet Fomalhaut II and his interactions with the different species living there. Anthropology, different civilizations, shifting power dynamics; it has all the elements of a classic Ursula K. Le Guin story. I loved it. My only complaint is that it was way too short. It felt like there was never enough time to fully understand the world, its different peoples, their relationships and their traditions. I felt like I was suddenly dropped into a completely unfamiliar world, everything started happening so quickly and then, the book was over. #vezirereads

Margo's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe I was actually going to start watching the series but my friend told me it was based on a book she’d read. She had a copy, so I stole it from her library to read it. It portrays a subject like sex work in a very real and honest way, without glorifying or demonizing it. The characters, the emotions, everything felt so real. It was a quick and fun read. I’ll definitely start the series soon too. #vezirereads
