Most of you don't know this about me but I have a tiny backyard flock; just enough gals for Eggs For My Family™️. Over the last 5 years I've only had 9 chickies and have lost 4 for various reasons. 3 were snatched by other critters, 1 was found deceased in our yard. We've also had injuries that have been survived. Today, I found one of my gals clinging to life and obviously beyond survival. This will be our first ever cull. I am beside myself and will absolutely not be able to do it. I am heartbroken for my sweet husband who will have to be the one to end her suffering. She's been a good girl, one of our best producers and protective of her sisters.
