I think I may have a lost the power cable for my sound bar behind the shelf I put all my books in. I worry if I risk moving it, I’ll find the stupid cable elsewhere.

Plan for tomorrow is to waste some wood on figuring this oven out before it gets much colder outside. Got a few days left. I'll have to buy additional fire wood sooner than expected. Love this stuff.

Solution: Don't close the door when smoke erupts. Don't try to extinguish the fire but open the oven door and ventilation fully, then open 1-2 windows in the room where the oven sits and the smoke will be sucked out of the ventilation shaft instead. View quoted note →

I have to move my photo library off of Ente. It’s just not a good product for me. The Android app is slow, often doesn’t upload images without opening the app first (I gave it background permissions) and sometimes it doesn’t even notice there are new photos ready to upload. Album management is terrible, album sorting is completely inconsistent, sharing stuff with non-Ente users is just confusing everyone with terrible UX. The desktop app is just a webapp and it’s editing features are barely useful and horrible to use. It’s also laggy as fuck. Take lots of panorama/horizontal photos? Ente will display them at a 90° angle and you’ll have to rotate and store a copy to fix it, messing up the library views even more. The Ente people probably mean well but to me this feels like early alpha stuff and for that it’s just too expensive and frustrating. Time to setup a Immich instance on my own and then move my library over once again. I really didn’t want to self-host my photos. @Ente I really tried. No hard feelings.

I might have to reconsider my interval fasting approach in the long run under my new circumstances. Riding the bike to buy some stuff from town after work just seems like it'll deprive me of needed energy for the climbs on my way back. It's not much, it's not always that steep but I'm just not used to it and it seems obvious that feeding my body energy before new exercise. I can get Ketosis and Autophagy by starting a 2 day water fast after I'm settled in.

I can't believe this is my life now.

I’m really angry with my go-to bicycle repair shop in Düsseldorf. After all the screwups over just the last few weeks, I’m annoyed enough to send him some feedback via mail. I don’t pay these sums for such a shitty service. Will ask around the neighborhood if someone has a bicycle stand so I can adjust the derailleur myself.

I have a wood stove now and I already know how to use it.
