My employer’s sales guy made another in-person appointment with a client inspite of our agreement to ask me first and now he already confirmed everything with the customer as if I had already agreed. Why do people work like this? What’s so difficult about sticking to agreements? Fucking fiat mine.

Another 9kg up the mountain! Wasn’t even that hard this time. Found a great route that shortens my ride by about 1,5km. Had to get off the bike at just one short steep climb because I couldn’t get sufficient grip in the mud. I haven’t felt this fit in years. View quoted note →

I can use my Sonos speakers as Airplay receivers. Never noticed that before. Watching conspiracy content with great sounds just makes it more fun.

Blackseed Oil is some magic potion. Once I apply it to any part of my body that icks, pains, bleeds, is dry, burnt or feels somewhat irritated, whatever it was just disappears after a few hours up to a few days. Thanks Barbara O’Neill.

TIL that wood that looks damp/wet isn’t necessarily so inside. Once you split it apart, you can easily dry the outer parts and store them somewhere dry.

Of all the things I'm thankful for in development terms of cloud-native software stacks, I’ll never forgive the people who invented the mess that is helm. It’s just pain every day.

Bootstrapping myself for a more outdoor life is quite expensive. Just finished my order for a headlamp, some tarps, a rain cover for my backpack, cheap leather working gloves, some thermometers, double-sided heavy duty adhesive, firewood and a splitting axe. Haven’t even looked into more weather-resistant clothing and proper boots yet. I love this shit. Feels to utterly right.

So what's the state of RISC V minicomputers that are similarly sized as a recent Raspberry Pi? Anything that’s already useable?

That moment where you notice that your oven is powering on and the heat just radiates from it. Found a delivery for fire food about 20km from here. Let's see if his shipping costs are sane tomorrow.

First shopping bike ride in the dark. Sliding down the mountain isn’t as easy anymore because there’s wet leaves everywhere on the street but as long as I follow the car’s tracks, it’s alright. Still reached ~45km/h though. Back up was more diffucult. The route I was prepared for is closed for construction and the alternative path adds another ~100m of ascend in the form of another 13° steep climb. Considering that my lung felt like bursting, I recovered quickly though. Took a cold shower afterwards and now I feel great because I accomplished something today!

5 days of living in my cabin and the worst injury I have to show for is a fingernail I cut too much off of. 🫠

I guess I’ll also split some of wood blocks into smaller parts to ensure I don’t acidentally use wood that isn’t perfectly dry as well as to make it easier to dry up.

I think I may have a lost the power cable for my sound bar behind the shelf I put all my books in. I worry if I risk moving it, I’ll find the stupid cable elsewhere.
