This Trump coin launch could be a black swan event. Its foretells a trajectory of pro-crypto policy-making paired with yet cringer ways of looting the late-stage fiat civilization, all while #Bitcoin quietly ascends in the background. Focus on the signal, not the noise. (Art by @Scoresby) image

The best counter-argument to this that I’ve hears is that, in the year 2025, hardly anyone is confused about the nature of memecoins anymore. People know they are essentially buying lottery tickets when they buy a memecoin. And so long as the memecoin issuer is not hiding this fact, it should be allowed. That may be true. People are free to gamble if they choose to. But is this something the President of the United States should be participating in? And what does he gain other than fiat? What does he lose? Is it worth it? View quoted note →

Trump expended nearly all of the goodwill he built up among Bitcoiners to launch this recent scam token. He survived an assassination attempt, won the presidency, and then uses his newfound prestige to grift off of the Hobbits who supported him. The Dark Elves rejoice at this, as they can now grift off the Hobbits too. Only the Light Elves and Númenóreans (Bitcoin Maximalists) see this for what it is. And if Trump fails to free Ross and create the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve as promised, he will have no goodwill left among Bitcoiners. Yes, Kamala would have been 10,000x worse wrt Bitcoin policy, but that doesn’t make Trump’s recent actions excusable. image

Whatever the Department of Government Efficiency does or does not accomplish over the next 4 years, one thing is certain — Fiat inflation is not going away. Your dollars will continue to trend towards zero in Bitcoin terms. Same with every other asset that can be printed ad infinitum. Nothing stops this train. image View quoted note →

One of the best aspects of #Bitcoin is you don’t have to trust anything or anyone. You don’t have to worry about Trump rug pulling you, Vitalik rug pulling you, Brad Garlinghouse rug pulling you, the Federal Reserve rug pulling you, your bank rug pulling you, or anyone else rug pulling you. There is no Bitcoin CEO, no insiders with pre-mined coins. It is an open protocol that anyone can opt into. Don’t trust. Verify. image

“That is, you see, the most difficult thing to do, to accept oneself completely. Because the moment you can do that, you have in effect done psychologically what is the equivalent of saying in philosophical or theological terms, you as you are now are the Buddha.” — Alan Watts, The Joker image

“A Myokonin is called a marvelous fine fellow, because somehow or other he does seem to transcend the ordinary kind of human rascality, to become a truly unselfish, a truly human being, loving others, understanding others, sympathizing with others, a wonderful compassionate man. Because he has been enabled to love himself, to accept himself in the profoundest possible way.” — Alan Watts, Buddhist Mysticism image
