"Do not give in to evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it." —Motto of Ludwig von Mises
My #carnivore diet journey went in this path, starting in around 2022: 1. Heard about The Beef Initiative on the No Agenda Show with @Adam Curry while doing market research around bitcoin and food. 2. Discovered the book Fiat Standard with the chapter on Fiat Food by @Saifedean Ammous 3. Then read Fiat Food by Matthew Lysiak as soon as it was published. 4. Listened to a podcast with @Ken Berry, MD on The Bitcoin Standard 5. Watched this podcast about a 90 day commitment: 6. Decided to verify it myself and tried it for 90 days, and it was indeed true, so stuck with it.
"...many who are self-taught far excel the doctors, masters, and bachelors of the most renowned universities." —Ludwig von Mises (Theory & History / Chapter 11:4)
Happy new year everyone! I've now been on a carnivore diet for more than a year! No counting, tracking, excess hunger or other unsustainable habits. Down by about 5 inches off my waist and 60 lbs in about six months, and then about 5-10 lbs up of muscle mass from working out! I feel great and very active. I started in December of 2023, I had gradually moved towards eating more beef and meat throughout the previous year. I started with a 90 day trial of beef, butter, bacon and eggs (and other meats) and then just kept it going after three months. I still do spices and coffee. I've tried reintroducing a few foods since then, however didn't like how I felt after or didn't see the point. After introducing a workout at the gym three times per week, I noticed my hunger increase. I've since needed to increase the fat to protein ratio of the food I eat, more than 1:1, by weight, is usually about right. Here is to the improvements of 2025. Let's go!
High-fat dairy is often included in carnivore and keto diets, however the addictive quality of the caseins (casomorphins) might be a reason to be careful and limit it, as it can bypass satiety hormones! Full video with @Ken Berry, MD List from the video of dairy with least (very little to none) to most caseins: 1. Ghee 2. Butter 3. Heavy cream 4. Half and half 5. Yogurt (full fat) 6. Soft cheeses 7. Milk (A2) 8. Cottage cheese 9. Milk (A1) 10. 2% A1 Milk 11. Skim A1 Milk 12. Hard cheeses 13. Casein protein isolate 14. Ultraprocessed cheeses
It's unexpected that there is a trademark for JavaScript of which Oracle somehow claims. Cancelling the trademark would provide better clarity. Or perhaps we just switch to calling it ECMAScript 😂: Trademarks have usually been somewhat accepted as mostly harmless by many free software projects, however such above examples reveal the faulty logic.
