Attempting to get my self-hosted Ghost instance public to share my ramblings and life-thoughts.
Writing has always been a passion project of mine and a creative endeavour I don't mind sharing.
The Bitcoin Farmer - will be linked here and there on occasion and I'll ALWAYS be receptive to thoughts, criticisms, and critiques. π

This "drama", I will involve myself in.
nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll is a fantastic company helping ANY of us willing to take back self-sovereignty
I can personally vouch for nostr:npub1wnlu28xrq9gv77dkevck6ws4euej4v568rlvn66gf2c428tdrptqq3n3wr back in the day, helping me to get my server stabilized after a hard drive issue that my semi-tech savvy self couldn't solve.
Giving customers quality assistance is ALWAYS invaluable and NOBODY OWES YOU ANYTHING.
Be the change you want to see. Support the companies you value, walk away from the ones you don't. Simple.
Nobody that truly values what self-hosting can bring to the table will argue the immense value proposition for a measly-ass, hundred cuck-bucks.
That is all.
A great presentation from Denver Bitcoin Devs a few weeks ago. Currently reading Roberts book - The Bitcoin Miners Almanac. π https://youtu.be/IgecaWXo0Qc
Great day to get some sunshine on the farm.
One thing I feel def seperated from a lot of the Nostr community on is this strange feeling worshipping of Donald Trump.
I can understand the argument of some sort of 'rebel' attitude towards many things in life, but I cannot comprehend believing that he will be any sort of real benefit to nearly any aspect of our lives.
With that being said, I'm not a fan of the democratic party and their candidate either, but it's really weird to me. Almost like I'm watching people lapping up the charade when I wouldn't expect that from a lot of folks in this space.
That is all.
Carry on please. π #UnpopularOpinionIsUnpopular
Across my gaming journey through the years, the one gane that has my heart is Warframe.
If you haven't played it - Warframe is essentially portraying a "Space Ninja" so to speak albeit with numerous other twists and turns I would encourage anyone to explore and check out on their own.
Yesterday I reached a "True Master" level, which in game essentially means I have played quite a bit over the span of a decade, but what I realized is that I LOVE helping other players. Helping a new player by answering a question, helping them complete an activity they may be stuck on - or even gifting them an item in game that I know they likely need - or will.
No other game I've ever tried, harbours such a positive community and the feedback loop is wonderful for people like myself that prefer to put our time and energies into things that create good.
Just my random thoughts from a gamer heading into 2024's hibernation season with Mother Nature. πββοΈ

Bit the bullet today and parked it in front of my computer long enough to understand the missing puzzle-pieces and gaps in my Lightning Network comprehension. Opened my own node / channel and am moving right along.
Next step will be to "Verify" myself on Nostr and a few other tweaks along the way.

Two nights of sleep in the book - adjusting well to the shikibuton. My only challenge of sorts was figuring out the proper level of blanket to use.
My kakebuton is super high-quality but almost too warm even with temperatures beginning to dip at night. Switched to a regular cotton blanket a bit thinner and felt way better last night.
All in all I'm excited to see what changes if anything, but also just happy to get rid of the clustered feeling of a large bed.
Alright.
A full day of cleaning / downsizing my living space.
The shikibuton and kakebuton are aired out, and soaked up some sunshine and fresh air for the day.
No, I'm not laying these on top of my shite mattress / bed, that's all been taken down and stored away. Also, covers or whatever they may refer to as sheets for these have been added so that they get some protection.
Excited to try out some floor sleeping.
Fairly certain that the new bed I bought from KΕchi Japan shipped out via UPS and based on tracking information has essentially traveled back in time to reach me. Pretty cool imo. πββοΈ
"...A strong, vibrant meditative song of guidance
Designed to raise eyelids, sublime, and saved assignments
With warm regards and aged kindness for today's climate
In the vein of gang violence meets the gang's demises, and it bangs
Rises like wings on a plane
Plus a pilot who can fly it into the eye od Hurricane Iris
Stylish, same shoe in different sizes
With evidences of the mileage and the growth..."

Serious question.
At 36 I feel I have so much yet to learn, however I have, and do - pride myself on trying my best to be a good friend. I reach out, at the least I will send someone a text sort of "checking in" if I know the odds are good they have family / work obligations.
Is it wrong of me to at least expect a reply, at any time? Undoubtedly one can't expect any timeline here, but I have to say, I feel disrespected as a friend when someone can't even bother to ever respond. π€
Making new social connections at 36 and living in a rural area is hard man...

Since working out daily I have noticed a decrease in the quality of my sleep.
I am fairly convinced at this point my mattress isn't providing the support my body needs to fully recover.
Today I completed my research and ordered a shikibutan from Japan. I feel the firm support may help straighten me out (horrific pun not intended) and I am always a fan of a minimalistic and simplistic way of living.
Will report in when things make it here. π΄

I'm not an absolute believer nor denier of climate change, but no one can convince me that SOMETHING isn't going on with Mother Nature. I've lived on this farm for nearly 40 years now and things are unbelievably dry.
Cutting our grass? Like vacuuming dirt.
Hay production is the worst we've ever encountered. We barely got first crop, let alone thought of a second or third.
I can sit in my office and watch dark clouds blow East of us into Pittsburgh and beyond and we have gotten nothing in the way of water.
Just feels crazy and extremely unusual. With that being said, the natural spring below our home still seems to be providing water, so that's wonderful. I just hope things don't continue down this road very long. A dry winter could start next year disastrously.

Such strange dreams last night.
Thankful for a good nights rest though. π
I'm a huge fan of Rocketbook products.
Recieved their Core notebooks for Christmas last year, and love that it allows me to bridge physical note-taking with digital file sharing and organization with the snap of a photo.
Tagging my notes, transcribing and sending digitized versions right to email.
Such a simple idea but ideal for someone like me that needs to feel the physical connection / doesn't always want to be in front of a screen for hours.
Picked up their re-usable Post-It Notes and Index Cards too. Looking forward to using these.

Have to say, feelin' some sort of way on Bitcoin Magazines content.
An article stating that an analyst predicts $125K bitcoin price with a Trump victory, but a $75K price if Harris gets it.
My personal issue is who gives a fuck? I could care less about either one as they'll both pander and wave and move on. They don't care about you or I.
Click-bait-y feeling articles guys, just not a fan. π€·
The new Linkin Park song is fire tbh.
What a formulaic band in my younger years. Loads of hours spent on my motorcycles riding to their albums.
Wish that band the best with their new singer. π€
