What are Tontines, and how could bitcoin backed Tontines provide an answer to the question of retirement in an increasingly unstable world?

Rage Against The Machine breaks my brain. I will never hear one of their songs and not get pumped about tearing down systems of oppression. But during Covid they let their true colors fly and I realized that I am completely out of alignment with them. They went from “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” to “fuck you why won’t you do what they tell you?” Real quick. Noam Chomsky was another. I guess it’s healthy to loose faith in your childhood hero’s.

Socialism will always fail, but it can work for a while like a sugar high if it has three things: 1.) an unarmed compliant population with no way to leave or take their property with them 2.) a money printer to hand out freebies 3.) a gang of ideological thugs willing to met out violence against their own people Without those three things, it fails very fast. So I expect the sugar high of these socialist cities experiments in America to be short. But they will be followed by blame and a scramble to secure the printing press in the next national election. If they get it, the only option is to leave before they close you in. It seems outlandish now but the pendulum swings fast in fourth turnings.

I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about treasury companies but I have just enough MSTR to pay attention to. I’m still way up from when I moved into it, but WAY down from the highs. Like less than half. Bitcoiners are used to 50% drops but I can’t imagine the trad guys like that too much.

Want to see housing affordability improve? Forget 50 year mortgages. Move the other direction to 5 year mortgages and reduce it overtime to zero mortgages. Bam…prices fall to what people can afford to pay here and now. Sure the dollar would fail but it would #makesavingsgreatagain.
