Desire is a contract that you make with yourself to be unhappy until you get what you want.

“Se necesitan mil hombres para inventar un telégrafo, o una máquina de vapor, o un fonógrafo, o la fotografía, o un teléfono o cualquier cosa de importancia; y el último que llega se lleva la gloria y nos olvidamos de los demás.” Pasaje de El enemigo conoce el sistema

“The goal of their algorithm is to manipulate the human mind so that it feels and needs things that it needed or felt for itself. We can no longer follow the maxim of believing in ourselves, or listening to our hearts. We have to learn to be suspicious of our most intimate desires, because we don't know who or what has put them there.” Excerpt From The enemy knows the system Marta Peirano

“En Las Vegas los casinos abren las veinticuatro horas. No tienen ventanas ni relojes; la luz es exactamente la misma sea cual sea la hora. Están diseñados para que no sepas si es de día o de noche, ni cuánto tiempo llevas allí. Como nos ocurre con la comida, no estamos evolutivamente preparados para gestionar la abundancia” Excerpt From El enemigo conoce el sistema

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3 Damus Apple Vision Pro. Couple issues I’ve seen so far: - Uploading a screenshot from the AVP says “Error uploading image :(“. Media type error? - Can’t scan QR code. (App crashes) Other than that, working good.

TIL otium vs negotium (latin) Otium = leisure Negotium = not-otium, busy-ness. When money is involved, it’s not otium anymore, it becomes negotium (business) In spanish makes more sense: “ocio” tiempo libre “negocio” (al contrario de ocio, significa ocuparse)

Your obsessions are a clue to your earliest vision of yourself, if only you had paid attention to them in the beginning.

The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers. M. Scott Peck

I wasn't even aware of #monero was listed in Binance again since, like, 2018. Shouldn't be too concerned about the fiat price of #XMR but look at it, already bouncing up, cool stuff.

“You are expressing a wish that the whole human race were inoffensive, which may hardly be; moreover, those who would gain by such wrongs not being done are those who would do them, not he who could not suffer from them even if they were done.” ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca, On The Firmness Of The Wise Man, IV (translated by Aubrey Stewart, 1900)
