many people in the health/fitness community will try to convince you that running is bad for your health because it is “stressful” and spikes cortisol. that it is catabolic. it is very important that you don’t listen to them if you enjoy running. there is a big difference between running on a trail in nature in natural fiber clothing with airtube headphones (or no headphones at all) vs pounding the pavement in a city or even worse pounding the treadmill under artificial light. running trails for me, reinforces a deep connection with nature while simultaneously improves my cardiovascular conditioning. worried about stress? stay in Zone 2, build up your mileage and pace slowly. most importantly, do what you love doing…and if possible do it outside.

"my eyes and brain are just so tired at the end of the day I'm not sure why" slow motion footage of your phone screen might have the answer. screen flicker.

solar panels are a great decentralized power solution... but there are some caveats.

your brain is one of the most sensitive organs in your body and airpods happen to sit right in your ear canal. I opt for wired or airtube headphones to protect my brain from unnecessary EMFs.

if you're stuck inside all day, I highly recommend using halogen lightbulbs. they're extremely bright and balanced - the two things I look for in my daytime light sources. not to add, they're a great source of infrared light.

does lead paint protect us from EMFs? probably not. here’s why…

best option is to get outside or open your windows. if you can't, opt for low iron glass or acrylic glass.

the best time to build your solar callus for summer is now. In March and throughout Spring. you wont be able to handle peak summer UV unless you train your cells months before to adapt. free energy is available to your body - take advantage and go outside 50% more than you did last Spring. image

working outside could and should be this easy. this wooden deck railing just happens to be the perfect height for standing + typing. imagine if we designed outdoor spaces to be compatible with our modern lifestyle requirements? grounded. sun bathing…yet productive. my nervous system can take on so much more capacity working in the digital world when simultaneously immersed in the outdoors. this is the ultimate hack to stay regulated. image

LEDs could never have this aesthetic. Lighting should be analog. Pure filament warmth. What our body craves. image

Night shift mode, red screen filters, and blue light blocking glasses are all imperfect band aid solutions to fix something that is disruptive at the core hardware level. Also, do you really think Apple and Google want you to stare at your phone less at night time? The only way to fully fix night time screen use is to build a better solution from the ground up. That’s what we’ve done @daylightco Years of development, hassling suppliers with no leverage to make custom switches that are a net benefit to the end user. That’s what it takes. And we’re just getting started…

The amount of RF EMFs in the wilderness = ZERO If you ever want to understand what it feels like to be free of these stressful artificial inputs, spend the weekend camping off grid. The ultimate nervous system reset.

A friendly reminder that incandescents are the healthiest lights you can buy. Rich in warm and biologically important near infrared light. No pulsed flicker. Purely analog. With the long night approaching, it is officially incandescent season. image

How bad are the EMFs coming from Starlink compared to a normal Wi-Fi router? In my opinion, if you have an optimized setup out in the wilderness, much better. Here's why:

I’ve been living off grid for 70% of the last two months. It has been nothing short of incredible. Incredible for all aspects of my life. Here is a tour of my setup which allows me to work off grid and still take in the benefits of living in nature:
