Should nostr go in hard on the polymarket strategy from @ODELL and absolutely spam the “no” to get people on the “yes” side to push Trump?
Would maybe be the first attempt of its kind and if it worked would be legendary.
Guys, normies just don’t get it. It’s astounding.
Literally talked to a guy who was complaining about inflation. Then was talking about the German government discussing funding bills using savings of their citizens.
But he doesn’t understand why bitcoin matters.
Earlier this year I was at a farmers market and someone was selling beef tallow moisturizer. I asked if they take bitcoin.
She looked at me like I was crazy and said “no we only take real money.”
Real money. She has no idea how absurd that statement is.
Glad I found @SoapMiner.
Times like these are where the people who have real businesses that generate real profits are pumped and the people sitting on their hands waiting for bitcoin to go up are miserable.
Build something.
Story time:
Took the fam to the local Steak ‘n Shake tonight for supper. Asked to pay in Bitcoin. The waitress didn’t know how. She went and asked the manager. They said I couldn’t pay in bitcoin because the iPad was out of battery…
I paid in dirty fiat via Apple Pay. Miserable.
It isn’t working to ask cashiers to ask the owner to turn on bitcoin payments.
The only local shop that has done it for me is because I know the owner personally.
We need some solutions to make it easier. @jack@miles 🌞
“Only through regulation could monopolies be made permanent.” - @Saifedean Ammous in The Gold Standard
I’ve often been asked what I think about monopolies and whether the government should step in to break them up.
I’ve never heard this argument before that only regulation can make them permanent.
I’ve told many rich boomers that Trump is one of the worst presidents ever. I point to the fact that he is setting tariffs all over the world on a whim and abusing EOs.
They often say something like “well if other countries would play fair we wouldn’t tariff them.”
I simply respond by saying “fair? how is it fair that we can literally print the world reserve currency?”
They have no answer for that.
There are layers to this (and negatives to being WRC) but what I find fascinating is that they haven’t even thought about that.
