"The antioxidants in coffee play roles in reducing inflammation, combating oxidative stress, and potentially lowering risks of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and neurodegenerative conditions." #RandomFacts #HealthyEating #EatingHealthy
Good morning! I am trying to live a healthy lifestyle. Then I heard about gut health. Read that eating a bigger variety of plant foods can help the microbiom which is connected with many health related benefits or diseases. So I built a small app that only tracked what fruits or vegetables you eat daily, to reach a variety of 20 over the week. Then the question came, does quantity of each plant food matter? How does the variety matter? Then I rethought the idea, and wrote a nutrition tracking app, that knew the different macros, minerals, vitamins of fruits and vegetables. This was working already on nostr. This way, I could track the variety of plant foods, and even know roughly what nutrients I consume, and what I am probably missing. This idea is already implemented a million times. My idea differs by nostr integration, and privacy (you store your data whereever you want, encrypted). Then I realized, I am too lazy to use it, and track everything. Then I rethought the idea again. Enter "healthy habits". There is a set of daily and weekly habits. Clicking on the habit tile, you can add foods in that habit category. This way, I can only focus on fulfilling the habits instead of tracking everything I eat. So far I have the plant eating habits: - 300g fruits daily - 400g veggies daily - 3.6l water daily - 15 different fruits weekly - 15 different veggies weekly - 30 different plants weekly β˜• Coffee βœ… 🍎 Daily fruits habbit βœ… More habits tiles are coming! image #EatingHealthy #HealthyEating #HabitTracking

🌱 The Hardness of Starting a Healthy Eating Journey 🌱 Social pressure can be a powerful force in our lives, and it often impacts our choices around healthy eating. Food is not just sustenance; it’s a connection point for many, just like complaining. If you decide to embark on a healthy eating journey, you might find that your friends and family aren’t on the same path. In fact, they may even be unsupportive or demotivating. It’s easier for someone to talk you out of your healthy choices than to confront their own habits. This can create tension and make your journey feel even harder. One effective way to combat this challenge is to find an accountability partner to start your healthy eating journey with. Together, you can share experiences, motivate each other, and exchange tips. What are your tricks for overcoming peer pressure when it comes to healthy eating? Let’s support each other! πŸ’ͺ #HealthyEating #EatingHealthy

Eat Whole, Live Whole! 🌱 Processed foods can lead to quick digestion and sugar spikes, leaving you feeling hungry soon after eating. Their refined carbs are rapidly broken down, causing a surge in blood sugar followed by a crash. This cycle can lead to overeating and cravings. In contrast, whole foods rich in fiber and nutrients promote stable energy levels and lasting fullness. Choose wisely for better health! 🍽️✨ #HealthyEating #NutritionTips #EatingHealthy
#dev #thoughts What would make healthy eating easier? > If you know what things you shall add and remove from your diet. Would it be possible to make a nutrition tracking and gut health app useful without really having accurate nutrition values? > I would say yes. > If you only know that person A eats food ..... that reaches the daily suggested vitamin intake roundabout 80%, ..... but minerals only 20%, ..... baaam, you have a valueable feedback. And for this, it does not even matter if total vitamin intake is 65-70-85%, if something else is below 30% e.g Also the question can be simplified to knowing what nutrition rich foods a person eats. If he lacks omega fatty acids, then baaam, useful feedback. What do you think? #healthyeating #eatinghealthy
Food supplements suppose to be supplements. Not replacing a healthy diet. Using food supplements as a health solution will: - lack the synergies of nutrients in whole foods helping absorption and effectiveness - lack variety of nutrients, only concentrating on certain ones - lack the fiber and other components that contribute to digestive health - do not provide the same chronic disease prevention effects - some vitamins and minerals can be toxic in high doses, particularly fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K - relying solely on supplements can create imbalances Also as a general rule of thumb, there is no free lunch. You cannot get healthy from a few tablets a day. You may can drop weight, but it will be temporary, and if you do not change, it will come back. #healthyeating #eatinghealthy
Oxidative stress refers to an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the body's ability to detoxify these harmful compounds or repair the resulting damage. This condition can lead to cellular damage and is associated with various diseases and aging. Good Morning! #healthyeating #eatinghealthy
How to heal yourself? How to solve your health issues instead of only handling the symptoms? There was a video about a Neurosurgent, who quit, because he realized he cannot solve the real issues of his patients he can only handle the symtpoms. One interesting point to take from him is, that he observed that many of his patients did not achieve lasting improvements from surgeries, leading him to question the effectiveness of his work. He noted that those who adopted healthier lifestyles tended to recover better than those who underwent surgical procedures. He found the following general charactetistics in people who healed, and the opposite in those who did not: - Diet is the most important. - Low salt diet. - Mostly plant-based diet. (Low animal food consumption) - Doing things that make you sweat. (Excercise, hiking, sauna, living in a warm place) - Didnt smoke. - Didnt drink much. - Good social support. (Loved ones, family, friends, children...) - Sleep 8 hours every day. - Werent stressed out, or found ways to release stress back to the universe. #healthyeating #health #eatinghealthy
