There's this group in my little town I used to live and built community for close to a decade... It's called Unconditional Giving and Receiving - people post stuff they need or like to receive and not infrequently they may in fact receive it. People also share stuff they are freely and unconditionally giving. And it's pretty cool.
For instance, I've received house plants when I was settling down and I was all of a sudden getting the call to have some wachuma cactuses around...
Another time some musician friends of friends who were headed abroad for a couple of months left their $6k handpan with me when I asked to receive a handpan.
I've given out food, random household items, soil, pots, furniture etc.
Most recently I asked about kettlebells... That ask hasn't been successful as of yet so might have to be fulfilled another way...
But it makes me wonder if other places have similar types of groups...
