A backpacking guiding and photography small-business operating in Jasper National Park and Mount Robson Provincial Park.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to our friends, colleagues, and all Jasperites who have been affected by the wildfires sweeping through the park. These are trying times and we are not looking forward to returning to town and seeing all that was lost. In the meanwhile we are trying to keep moving forward and will soon start offering guided day hikes to some of the scenic ridges and meadows around #Valemount . See our page here or send us a message for more details. As ever, we accept #bitcoin and #lightning for our adventures. image Let's all hope for cool temperatures and rainy skies to help quench the fires so we can start on the road to recovery and rebuilding. Jasper is our workplace, and our home. The park has seen many troubles since its founding in 1907, and it will survive to see more in the coming centuries. While current times are grim we are excited to see how the community, ecology, and Park itself will recover from this disaster and thrive into the future. #Jasper #CanadianRockies #JasperWildfire
We are in the mist of quite the heat wave in Jasper National Park with daytime high temperatures around +35C! If you are out in the hills be sure to get an early start for outdoor adventures, bring plenty of water, and lather on the sunscreen! #MyJasper image
Showers over the past few days have led to lovely wildflowers along the Fiddle River Trail. Forecasts point to sunny skies for the next week, it will be a great week to be out in the hills! #MyJasper #Backpacking #Flowers image
We have been out around the Kinbasket Reservoir scouting new routes for future seasons. Still a bit too much snow to reach the lake, but the first few glacier lilies are sprouting up around Lilly Meadows! #Valemount #Hiking #Photography
With only 2 days until the start of summer we had a bit of a frosty surprise yesterday morning around Jasper with fresh snow falling by the west gate! While town can recieve snow any month of the year July, August, and September are quite unlikely. #MyJasper image
You never know what you might come across on the trail. Here a trailside moose antler shows a bit of odd texture; small animals such as rodents will often gnaw on antlers, part of a natural recycling process! #MyJasper #Nature #Moose #CanadianRockies image
Another new offering for Summer 2024. A 4 day adventure exploring the upper Fryatt Valley based out of the ACC Sydney Vallance Hut. This is a gorgeous part of the park with full two days to explore the upper valley. Check out the link below or contact us for more information. As always we proudly accept #bitcoin and #lightning for all of our guided day-hiking and backpacking adventures. #StackSatsStackSteps #MyJasper #Backpacking #Photography image
While the full Berg Lake Trail will remain closed for reconstruction this summer, Kinney Lake (a short stroll on an excellent trail) is still a breathtaking destination to visit. Pristine glacial fed waters and the soaring peak of Mount Robson give the landscape a dramatic sense of scale. #Robson #BCParks #Valemount #Photography
Even "evergreens" can show different colors if you look close! Here older spruce needles have a darker shade while newly grown needles are bright and verdant. There's plenty to see from afar and close up in the Rockies! #MyJasper #CanadianRockies image
The Moab Lake Road is closed to cars until May 30 but open for bikers and hikers! A short ramble brings you to the pristine waters of the Whirlpool River and a tranquil perch above Moab Lake. Snow above and budding plants below, summer is almost here in Jasper National Park! image #MyJasper #CanadianRockies #Photography
Our most rugged guided backpacking adventure (complete with river crossings, deadfall hopping, and some of the most amazing views in the Canadian Rockies) travels from Moose Lake to Decoigne via Miette Pass along part of the Great Divide Trail. We have one space remaining for this 5 day adventure from August 15-19, 2024. See the link below for more details. #MyJasper #GreatDivideTrail image
If you are a seasoned backpacker looking to challenge yourself in remote terrain, consider our Moose River to Miette Pass Traverse. This 5 day guided backpacking trip is resplendent with rarely seen views in some of the prettiest parts of the Rockies. This is a committing trip with numerous river and creek crossings, but will be an adventure to remember! #MyJasper image
