GN 🌙 Today my father would've turned 74. I look back with gratitude for the path we shared. Time does change one's understanding of saudade, indeed. I feel lucky and privileged to have had such a strong father figure. What is saudade? It's a uniquely Portuguese word for the bittersweet longing for someone, something, or a time that is gone. There's no exact equivalent in English. It carries both nostalgia and love, yet it isn't sadness in itself. Rather, it's a feeling that evolves with us through the different stages of saudade.
