Finding my voice on social media has always been a struggle for me throughout my life. I’m not sure where it exactly it comes from and how much poker has to do with it, but I finally feel I’m turning a corner and it feels very freeing. Taking care of yourself is one of the best things you can do. It’s really hard to pour into your business, family, and friends from an empty cup.

Laughter & love is the medicine.

Keeping your word is a masculine trait. One mistake I see guys making is demanding their woman keep her word because she said something last week. Woman speak with their emotions. Her emotions may change every hour. Don’t make her stick to her word like you would one of your guy friends. Flow with her like the wind. Dance with her. Change her mood, not her mind.

Poker & life have so many similarities. In poker, you may have a great plan for the hand, but then one bad card comes and you may need to figure out how to minimize the damage soon on the way. In life, circumstances change, people change, your own desires change. Sometimes you’ll be in a winning position and want to capitalize & other times it’s better to figure out how to scrape by with little lost. In both situations, an ego death may be completely necessary in order to adapt to the new information & execute the best decision. Can you drop your ego and admit your original plan is no longer worth anything? Or will your ego block you from being in connection with your intuition? This is why the smartest people stay open-minded, flexible, and don’t have a problem admitting when they’re wrong.

One of my favorite gym hacks is counting down from 8 to 0 instead of up from 1 to 8 (on a set with 8 reps). It tricks your brain into thinking finality is coming and your body pushes itself slightly more.

If you want others to help you then help them first.

Sunlight, eggs, yoga, beach walk. The morning really is simple.

Most people wish for life to become easier. Instead, become stronger in all aspects of your life so you are better equipped to handle problems that will inevitably come.

Relationships are easy when each person is actively working on becoming the best version of his or herself.

Poker is a game where people think you have to be incredibly smart or be insane at reading people. Those are important, yes, but more importantly is your ability to handle adversity. Can you handle losing thousands of dollars because you lost as a 75% favorite (aka got unlucky)? Emotionally, can you stay composed? Do you have the discipline to show up the casino tomorrow with a smile on your face even though yesterday went terrible? Do you believe in your skills which you acquired through your study habits? If not, you'll have a tough time.
