These are especially relevant questions to me too, and one of the reasons I am on nostr. It seems like you are pulling on the strings, teasing out the differences between protocol vs platform. With that distinction in our minds, I think we are using “the internet” to mean both when it is only a protocol. “Why publish on a platform?” is the current situation on X or meta etc. And I can’t think of a principled reason why anyone should, other than that’s where people are. Nostr gives us the ability to act, to publish, to speak without constraints, but the only way people can connect with each other is by building the relationships organically: no algo. Which is a different set of obstacles, but i think what we build here in nostr will last. We have to meet people where they are if we are to carry messages to them. So “why publish on a platform?” the question is “to what end?”

If I don’t consciously priortize posting, I just won’t. Hard to tell if that’s something I should lean into or back away from 🤣
