What is grounding anyway? If you’ve been following me, you know that I have new obsession. GROUNDING!! So, what is grounding anyway? The act of grounding is simple. Put your feet on the earth. Grass, Sand, Mud, doesn’t matter. HOWEVER, what you’re doing for your body when you’re grounding goes much deeper. So put your feet in the grass for a few minutes and allow me to explain what’s going on beneath the surface. Grounding is separating the signal from the noise. How, exactly, does grounding do this? The earth has a natural resonance, known as the Schumann resonance. The Schumann resonance is created by the electromagnetic waves from lightning within the cavity between the earth’s surface and the ionosphere. Although there are other frequencies, the most prominent frequency of the Schumann resonance is around 7Hz. This frequency falls within the category of EMFs know as extremely low frequency. Alpha waves in the brain are responsible for things like feeling calm and focused. Interestingly, alpha waves in the brain also resonante in this extremely low frequency range (8-12Hz). Furthermore, power lines and many household appliances operate in the ELF range. Now, check out these two graphs. The rise in depression among adolescents (Source 1) and the investment in transmission power lines (Source 2). Correlation is not causation. However, it make’s sense that when our body cannot hear the signal through the noise, the nervous system is profoundly impacted. See Robert O Becker’s analysis of correlation between deaths by suicide and location near high voltage overhead power lines. What the researchers concluded is that “the overall picture was indicative of a correlation between power lines and suicide”. (Source 3) This research was conducted in the 1960s & 1970s. Medical doctors and scientists have had concerns with the way EMFs would affect the population for over 50 years. Yet, the doctors who have spoken out have been cancelled (Source 4) and the industry has continued to saturate our neighborhoods and communities without any regard to the potential risk. Specifically, the risks imposed on kids and young adults’ while their neurons are unmyelinated and their brains are still developing. Think about the amount of people who are given an SSRIs, benzo, stimulant, mood stabilizer, etc. without ever being exposed to grounding. I have experienced this myself! Grounding has the potential to unlock the same benefits without the side effects or dependency on the pharmaceutical industry. One is empowering your body to heal itself. The other is taking your power away and giving it to largest and most powerful industries creating further concentration of wealth and power. All of this to say that the government, the industry, and even the medical professionals are not concerned about your safety or wellbeing as much as they’re concerned about their bottom line. So protect yourself as much as possible from the potential risks of EMFs. One way to do this is - You guessed it. GROUNDING! Other research on grounding has found …. - Participants sitting in a grounded chair showed statistically significant improvement in pleasant and positive moods. Those in the non-grounded group did not. (Source 5) - “Grounding reduces pain and alters the numbers of circulating neutrophils and lymphocytes, and also affects various circulating chemical factors related to inflammation.” (Source 6) - “Earthing revealed significant curing and preventive effects with a shorter illness duration.” (Source 7) You don’t need me to tell you that grounding can make you feel better, more calm, more focused, etc. If you’ve grounded before, I’m sure you can speak to this experience yourself. So much gratitude!!! Another adventurous day — zip lining, surfing, and more fresh coconuts than I can count. Costa Rica’s future is bright. This country is full of beauty, freedom, and some of the kindest, most open-minded people I’ve met. Also, if you ever doubt human resilience, just watch someone biking with a surfboard under one arm. Post surf snack goes hard

The most based day oml Today started off with some habit stacking at Playa Uvita - grounding, breath work, morning sunlight, long walk, yoga, and a few sprints. Saw the most beautiful sand dollar. For breakfast, tortilla española y fruta. Then, I did about an hour of surfing with my favorite surf instructor, Leandro at Uvita Surf & Tour! If you ever visit Uvita, I highly recommend working with Leandro to learn how to surf. Featured is my extremely messy surf hair. Haha. After surfing, it was time to feast. We ate at Aroma a Café. @aroma Everyone had the pinto gallo. The fruit smoothies are incredible also. After lunch, I visited Seguras Meat Market. MY FAV SPOT SO FAR IN UVITA. They had the best selection of raw milk products I’ve ever seen & options for coffee made with raw milk and with honey instead of sugar. I have to give a shoutout to Henry specially! He walked me through their philosophy and their products at Seguras. Muchas gracias!! There is not any place like this in Kansas City that I know of. A day well-spent in Uvita I started off with surfing this morning. Then, a walk on the beach. Felt glowy. Saw a horse on the side of the road. Had to stop and take a video. Enjoyed a delicious lunch at sibu. The rain came in. I took the opportunity to practice yoga and relax at the hostel. Any dinner restaurant suggestions while I’m here?
