As it says in my profile, I’m late to bitcoin, and that also means I’m late to hosted mining. I’ve been running the numbers on projected difficulty between now and the next halving. Here’s some rough calculations… By April 2028 the ranges three AI’s give are as follows: Claude: 312 T base case ChatGPT: 265 T - 842 T is the range, with 476 T as the base case Grok: 404 T base case So I think I missed the boat on this. I still plan to do some home heating - as much of a hobby as for ROI. I’d love to hear what others have to say or if they can create a reasonable model that makes the case for hosted mining. And I don’t want to go the US tax code depreciation route. I’m not convinced of the argument that you can set up an LLC but keep the sats nonKYC. …and yes, I’ve spent too much time doing this. 😬😂 #mining

I’m aiming to be useful and kind today, and to make a big dent in selling things I don’t need and purging for a move next month. My guess is most bitcoiners knew well before they went down the rabbit hole that dollars are just pieces of paper - they only have value because you trust that they have value. Kids can understand this, but they have to be coached up and to get it. I’m thinking of both teenagers and 80 yr olds in my life, and all the ages in between, who would need some serious coaching on why this is true. And even the teenage who drives and can’t pay for most things they want/need with cash might struggle to buy into it. #bitcoin
