"i think it's a coin toss whether they are or not" "this looks like some kind of leveraged ETF that would not get into the S&P500 no matter how big it is--but that would harm their credibility" "they could punt on it: we are still considering it." "maybe due to political pressure. this administration has clearly staked a position that it is very pro bitcoin. the S&P is a regulated entity as well. they exist at the mercy of the SEC. they are not immune from political pressure. "more likely than not, they will approve it".

this morning i needed to pay rent with Satoshis. my lightning wallet didn't quite have enough, so then i realized i needed to convert cold storage bitcoin to lightning bitcoin. thankfully Aqua exists because i wouldn't know how else to do this. apparently CashApp just does this for me even though it looks like 1 bitcoin wallet it actually is both lightning and bitcoin rolled into one. it's called a "Peg-in powered by SideSwap"

my mom just gave me the best gift ever. she said, "im ready for another bitcoin video." my problem now is i messed the youtube recommendations up by clicking on 1 (only one) taylor swift/travis kelce engagement short . and now i'm getting a bunch of celebrity junk and i might just have to delete youtube profile to clean up this mistake. so i'm escaping to Nostr to ask, what's the best bitcoin video for someone's mother?

A boomer mentioned how he thought AI was changing society quickly in a dark way and doubted there was anyway out of a "soft totalitarian system" Of course i had to mention bitcoin then he asked, "Every system has vulnerabilities: what vulnerabilities does bitcoin have?" ----my answer----- Getting people onboarded, and one world government his worry: isn't the world already monolithic? can't the governments or "shadowy global cabal" cooperate to ban it. isn't the network centralised? i pointed to my Start9 node running in the corner. look they would have to come take this away from me. "Do you have Starlink", he asked? wily boomer.

I wonder why they ask at the urgent care if I've had covid shot and follow up by "which company?" Is it they want to check if I know the company name and likelihood that I'm not lying? Or is something wrong with one of the shots and they still ask the question years later?

The Start9 NextCloud sync is confusing the heck out of me. i have only only a couple small folders set to sync, but it looks like it's syncing GigaBytes of libraries like python etc. the other confusing thing is that it disconnects from Wifi and requires me to manually reconnect it. could it be that my Start9 session is just too lazy. i have to go look at it to make it connect. then as soon as i wander away, it disconnects from Wifi, but it still makes sounds like it's thinking/downloading for hours even though it's "Not connected". it's just doing it's own thing with very little regard for its owner's wishes.

#asknostr i'm trying to find some health advice for someone who is 40, active, in -shape with the following symptoms: he has acid reflux every night and almost a constant feeling of reflux in his throat. he doesn't drink alcohol. he stopped drinking coffee a year ago. he wonders if a hiatal hernia could be causing it. it started in earnest maybe a year ago following a fall in which he landed on his hip on concrete. my own wacky worries would include trying to get rid of vax side effects, glyphosate on wheat, more relaxation/less stress, perhaps intermittent fasting. he is almost scared not to eat because he thinks it will cause more acid. he also takes tums every day.

someone's sending their 18 year first born daughter to college. i blabbed to the dad he should just buy bitcoin instead. he looked interested. I guess dad's not too keen on sending his daughter to the wolves. i don't think i could be a parent i would be too controlling. "You're staying at home." and then if she insists, i would gift her a trained dog for her apartment so no male friends could drop in. but realistically, what should an 18 year old be doing right now instead of college especially if they don't know what they want to do? what's the most prudent way forward, given AI is coming for a lot of jobs. the Luke Broyles' comparison of humans are to horses as AI is to the automobile. has got me thinking. you can either be the prettiest show horse, or be the horse that invests in automobile companies or oil companies. or the horse that's likeable enough that people with their new car just keep you around in the backyard. but the horse that goes to get shod to plod along pulling wagons in the age of automobiles...

considering a career switch and wondering if captaining a ship is an attainable goal. looks like they work a lot of hours tho some other options: Deckhand/Ordinary Seaman: possible Mate/Officer (e.g., Third Mate): maybe Captain/Master : nope (if i'm not aiming for this, maybe it's not a good idea) Engine Department (Onboard Roles): Oiler/Wiper: nah Marine Engineer (e.g., Third Assistant Engineer): hmmm Chief Engineer: no Steward/Cook: nope Cruise Ship Staff (e.g., hospitality, entertainment): definitely not Shore-Based Roles: Port Operations/Logistics: maybe, but being on the boat is the whole point

arguing with someone over whether narcissism is when someone can't change their schedule at all for others. like the rest of the family wants to meet at a restaurant at X time and this person never ever can make it on time or make it at all. also i'm pretty sure narcissistic people don't like dogs, right?
