"as she passed through the fair" "it will not be long now..." This song is haunting me the last 2 days for no reason. i haven't heard it in years. I used to have a CD of Charlotte Church singing this on my CD alarm clock.

"Cannot deserialize value of type 'java.lang.Boolean' from Object value (token at [Source:UNKNOWN; byte offset:#UNKNOWN] sparrow wallet is telling me that i have a lot of technical debt between my Linux setup, Sparrow, and the Jade. I decided to update the Sparrow firmware, and then ended up getting misaligned with the Jade device and my Linux installation-- my fault. I've been struggling with this error for a whole day. it's probably something silly.

i've been trying to troubleshoot my Blockstream Jade device connecting to Sparrow all afternoon because I updated Sparrow to 2.5.3. Then Claude revealed this eyebrow-raising nugget: is it true? i have no idea, but it doesn't make me feel too good. image

i feel like an idiot that it took this long to find out that those little hardware things were not magic. And that all i needed all this time were dice, a website (https://iancoleman.io/bip39/), and a public key to get receive addresses. lightning wallets are already easy. it's much cheaper to do cold storage bitcoin than i thought. so bitcoin is actually more accessible than i realized.

I was craving some physicality for once. just wanted the feel of paper and a craft project. so i made some paper bitcoin. i'm going to share the python repo in case anyone wants to make their own. the workflow is basically 1. roll dice 2. put into preferably on a non-internet connected laptop 3. copy down 12 or 24 words and hide them somewhere very safe! 4. copy zpub into this program (in test.py). 5. run test.py it spits out an old-school deposit booklet
