I stumbled on a Harvard lecture “The Moral Side of Murder” that I downloaded in 2020, don’t know when it occurred.
I can’t reconcile the consideration demonstrated in this lecture with the moral degeneracy of public figures and “God’s chosen” today.

This week, the 37th week of 2025 was a terrible week, following now countless terrible weeks for the American psyche.
The seemingly senseless murder of Iryna Zarutska occurred August 22nd, but the story really didn’t break until this week so it counts along with the murder of Charley Kirk this week and in my opinion is more important to try to understand for one reason and it’s not that it could have been YOU (though this is true), it’s because crime, especially brutal crime diminishes the quality of YOUR life more than you can possibly imagine.
A truly senseless act is about as rare as a single miner netting three bitcoin in a single day, though it happens. Nearly every heinous event that occurs, or is ALLOWED to occur, occurs for a reason. Most will agree with that statement and stop there. The consequence of stopping there is then most of what happens around you will remain a mystery but there’s nothing mystical about it—it’s by design.
One simple question asked iteratively will reveal much of how the world really works and you’ll be in a FAR better position to help fix this clusterfuck we’re living in for having asked.
It’s not WTF?, it’s CUI BONO? Who benefits?
Now, answer the question (by reply would be greatly appreciated and a value to most who read this), who (all) could have possibly benefitted from the murder of Iryna Zarutska?

I experienced a shift in the very core of my being with Iryna Zarutska’s murder. I still don’t fully understand why, but I am certain I will never be the same. Maybe it was the brief totally innocent bewildered look on her face not comprehending what happened to her. Maybe it was my realization that she did NOTHING in any way to deserve this fate. But something that has always been good inside me died with her and like Iryna, it will never return. 😢
