I think there is genuine concern that the timeline is tight for implementing post-quantum cryptography in blockchains (notwithstanding the newer blockchains that have PQC baked in). 5-10 years at the very most. Hiding keys buys time, but it doesn't solve the underlying maths problem. Bitcoin currently uses ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm), which Shor’s algorithm can break. So, for now, always use a new address for every transaction. Reusing an address exposes your public key permanently. Bitcoin won’t become quantum-resistant overnight. It will likely happen in phases: first by hiding keys (BIP-360), then by swapping the signature algorithm, all while managing the immense coordination required to keep the network unified, which is going be a real ball ache. We can only hope the geniuses can lead us to a PQC solution, but, unfortunately, hope is not a strategy. I'm concerned over here.
