//The Wire//2300Z June 14, 2025// //PRIORITY// //BLUF: CONGRESSWOMAN ASSASSINATED, SENATOR WOUNDED IN MINNESOTA. ASSAILANT REMAINS AT LARGE. NATIONWIDE 'NO KINGS' PROTESTS REMAIN LARGELY LOW-INTENSITY DURING DAYLIGHT, THOUGH SEVERAL INCIDENTS REPORTED. NATIONWIDE COUNTER-ICE PROTESTS REMAIN MORE KINETIC.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: The Israeli/Iranian War continues as before, with both nations continuing to trade missiles overnight. Israeli forces have conducted more strikes targeting Iranian Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricant (POL) production facilities, and Iranian forces have responded by striking the POL refinery in Haifa. -HomeFront- USA: Most of the "No Kings" protests did go ahead as planned, though as expected turnout was comparatively low throughout the morning in most areas. During the daytime protest events, most of the participants at most of the "No Kings" protests have been elderly, which resulted in most of the No Kings events remaining relatively low-impact. However, many Counter-ICE protests were conducted separately around the nation, many of which became kinetic. Standard cases of vandalism, civil unrest, and violence were reported in Los Angles, Chicago, NYC, Seattle, and several other major cities. Minnesota: Overnight, an individual posing as a police officer conducted multiple assassination attempts at the homes of two local politicians in Minneapolis. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife were ambushed at their home in Champlin by a gunman who posed as a police officer. Both were wounded during the attack. Later that same night, State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were ambushed in their home in Brooklyn Park. Both Hortman and her husband were killed in the attack. Due to the similarities in their names, and these incidents taking place in close proximity to each other, the full casualty count regarding these attacks is as follows: Senator John Hoffman - Wounded at the scene in Champlin, expected to survive Yvette Hoffman (his wife) - Wounded at the scene in Champlin, expected to survive Representative Melissa Hortman - Killed at the scene in Brooklyn Park Mark Hortman (her husband) - Critically wounded at scene in Brooklyn Park, later died at the hospital. The assailant remains at large, and a manhunt is underway in the Brooklyn Park area to locate the suspect. The suspect's vehicle (which was camouflaged to appear as a police cruiser) was recovered at the scene of the second series of murders. Inside the vehicle, were stacks of handwritten leaflets marked "No Kings", referencing today's planned protest events. Also found inside the vehicle was a hit list referencing targeting efforts of other politicians, however the details of this document have not yet been released. Texas: This morning a fire was reported at the Marathon Refinery in Texas City. In Austin, the State Capitol was evacuated this afternoon, after an unidentified threat was presented to lawmakers. As of this afternoon, no amplifying information has been released regarding this incident. Virginia: A vehicle ramming attack was attempted in Culpeper, as an individual drove his vehicle into one of the "No Kings" protests that was dispersing. Local authorities state that Joseph Checklick Jr. intentionally accelerated into the crowd, striking one person in the process. The assailant was arrested at the scene. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: At the moment, the assassinations (and attempts) in Minnesota are highly controversial topics and speculation does not often make the situation any better. However, in this case some speculation is needed to convey the potential future threats that may be ongoing due to the fugitive remaining at large. When time is of the essence, speculation that aids in the success of an investigation is doctrinally acceptable. As such, the possibility must be considered that this may have been the actions of not just a lone gunman and/or a mental case, but rather a deliberate assassination at the behest of significantly powerful organizations and/or populations. A few days ago, Rep. Hortman crossed party lines to be the only Democrat that voted with the Republicans to support a bill that would ban illegal immigrants from receiving Minnesota state welfare benefits. Most notably, Rep. Hortman participated in several media interviews being visibly upset for begrudgingly supporting the bill. Clearly, local authorities also suspect the link to be related to a political issue (since Hoffman and Hortman worked together). After the report of the shooting at Hoffman's home, authorities raced to Hortman's home a few miles away to "preemptively check on" the Congresswoman. After arriving at Hortman's house, police ran into the shooter, who was exiting the structure having already committed the shootings inside. After a brief small arms skirmish, the suspect evaded capture and departed from the area, prompting the large manhunt. Regarding the shooter's identity, authorities claim that the individual is Vance Luther Boelter, a senior advisor and political activist who was appointed by Gov. Tim Walz to serve on the Governor's Workforce Development Board back in 2019. However, details surrounding the suspect's connections will be confusing until more information becomes public. While it's easy to assume the connection to Hortman due to her voting history, at the moment it's possible she wasn't the primary target...Hoffman and his wife were targeted first. Considering that a hit list was discovered at the scene, it is extremely likely that the officers who had the idea to check on Hortman saved lives. Unfortunately, Hortman and her husband did not survive the assassination attempt, but the officers engaging the suspect (and thus causing him to flee on foot) very likely prevented the shooter from continuing down his hit list to the next target. //The Wire//0300Z June 13, 2025// //PRIORITY// //BLUF: ISRAEL STRIKES IRANIAN NUCLEAR SITES. IRAN VOWS RETALIATION//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: A few moments ago Israeli forces conducted large-scale missile strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities scattered around the nation. The Uranium enrichment and storage facility at Natanz is currently on fire, and the Heavy Water manufacturing center at Arak has also been struck. Several decapitation strikes were reported among key leaders in Tehran, with the leadership of the Iranian nuclear program being the chief target for the first wave of targeting efforts. AC: Regarding other sites, the fog of war prevents an accurate assessment of which locations have been struck, so the battle damage assessments will have to wait a few hours while the dust settles. Iranian media is currently reporting that Iran is expected to officially declare war soon, though this may be more of a reflection of battlefield excitement rather than official government policy. -HomeFront- Washington D.C. - Immediately after the first strikes were reported, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the United States was not involved in these strikes. Texas: A ground stop has been issued for the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. AC: At the moment it's not clear as to what the ground stop is in reference to, other than a general security incident. More details will have to follow later on. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Right now, the immediate concerns center around a near-mid-far threat assessment model, both in terms of physical distance and time: Local threats take precedent over far-away threats, and fast-paced, time sensitive problems must be handled before long term problems that can wait. At the moment, 'near' threat concerns involve potential malign actors conducting attacks in the United States, 'mid-range' concerns pertain to logistics, shipping, and the US personnel that may be within range of any potential Iranian counterattack. Long-term concerns will develop later on as the world awaits Iran's response. Iran does not have the capability to directly strike the American homeland, but they can certainly strike many critical American sites around the Middle East. Considering that Iran had at least four days of very obvious advanced notice of these attacks, that will be a factor to consider as events develop. Locally to the homefronts of most Western nations, the chief concern is that of Iranian agents, saboteurs, and sympathizers that may be located in positions to cause problems. There are no specific threats that have come to light regarding potential terrorism within the homeland as retaliation, however those indicators would probably not be discernible before any attack anyway. Regardless of the politics behind this action, both pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protests are now extremely high-risk events to attend or be located near. Currently the social situation in the United States is primed for any kinetic activity which may strike the match and light the fuse of the tensions that have been building for some time. The context of the thousands of kinetic protests being undertaken right now in nearly every single US State must also be considered; there is enough overlap between the demonstrators currently causing problems, and those who seek to carry out more substantial attacks. //The Wire//2200Z June 12, 2025// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: COMMERCIAL AIRLINER CRASHES IN INDIA, 260 FATALITIES CONFIRMED SO FAR. TENSIONS CONTINUE IN MIDDLE EAST. RIOTS CONTINUE IN NORTHERN IRELAND AND USA.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- India: This morning Air India Flight 171 crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad. The aircraft impacted the student housing at B.J. Medical College, a teaching hospital and large medical facility. Local authorities have claimed that there was only one survivor among the 242 souls on board. There is no confirmation on casualties sustained on the ground, however locals have provided the figure of 260 casualties all total (both those in the aircraft and on the ground). Aircraft debris is spread over a wide area throughout a densely-populated region, so the casualty count is expected to rise as recovery efforts continue. Northern Ireland: Protests and riots alike continued throughout the region overnight, with locals continuing arson attacks on migrant centers. Yesterday afternoon, locals discovered that the family members of the migrants who assaulted a child (the incident that started all of this) were temporarily evacuated to a Leisure Center in Larne, which was promptly burned down by locals. Riots continued in Ballymena, and vandalism efforts have disrupted local train services as obstacles and fires were set on train tracks in a few locations around the area. Middle East: Indications and warnings continue to mount regarding a potential war with Iran. The US State Department continues to issue region-wide warnings, though no specifics have been provided regarding the potential threats. AC: Considering all possibilities, the recent threat warnings issued by the White House could also be a ruse, specifically an ambiguity-decreasing information operation. In other words, it could be a trick to pressure the Iranians into making a deal with regards to their nuclear aspirations. Either way, it is a dangerous game, and increased vigilance is recommended in any case due to the uncertainty of how events might transpire over the next few days. -HomeFront- Texas: Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the deployment of approximately 5,000 National Guard soldiers in preparation for the mass demonstration events planned for this weekend. These forces will augment the thousands of local and state police which have been tasked with keeping order during the thousands of protests that will take place around the nation on Saturday. California: This afternoon U.S. Senator Alex Padilla was arrested after attempting to disrupt a press conference at which DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was speaking. Senator Padilla resisted being removed from the room after causing the disruption, and was subsequently arrested by force in the hallway outside the event. The Senator was released shortly after the incident, and as of yet has not been charged. USA: This afternoon a large scale communications outage was reported throughout the nation. Cloudflare, AWS, and Google Cloud all reported simultaneous issues with their platforms and services. AC: No cause of the outages has been reported, however this is a major incident considering the timing of multiple independent systems going offline at the same time. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: When it comes to the chaos and kinetic activities in Northern Ireland, there are two main lines of effort by involved parties: There are the ethnically Irish protesters-turned-rioters, who have engaged in arson attacks in migrant communities in response to immigration issues. Separate from these incidents, looting has been observed taking place, which is largely being carried out by migrant communities themselves. This is complicating efforts to host legitimately peaceful demonstrations, as the situation in some areas is simply too chaotic to determine exactly what's going on. The situation in Northern Ireland has never been simple to describe, and it's been made worse by the establishment of migrant centers in local Irish communities. In India, right now it's too soon to determine exactly what caused the crash of Flight 171. However local media claims that a mayday call was issued by the pilots immediately after takeoff, though in the short time between the call and the crash, it's not clear what might have happened. Video footage from shortly before the crash also indicates that the aircraft's flaps were fully retracted, which is very abnormal for any aircraft on takeoff, let along a very heavy long-haul flight fully laden with passengers and fuel. //The Wire//2000Z June 11, 2025// //PRIORITY// //BLUF: INDICATIONS AND WARNINGS EMERGE REGARDING DEVELOPMENTS IN MIDDLE EAST. RIOTS CONTINUE TO EXPAND IN MANY MAJOR U.S. CITIES. RIOTS IN NORTHERN IRELAND BECOME MORE KINETIC.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: Indications and warnings are growing regarding an unknown threat to the United States throughout the region. Reports have emerged indicating that the US Navy base in Bahrain is at an increased defensive posture, and that non-essential staffers and their families are currently being evacuated from the American Embassies in Baghdad, Kuwait, and Bahrain. A few moments ago the UKMTO office also issued a very vague warning statement, advising mariners to be advised of increasing tensions through the Strait of Hormuz. AC: At the moment, none of this is confirmed, but the rumors are trickling out anyway, since this appears to be a very time-sensitive threat, whatever it is. Nobody knows what's going on for sure, but a lot of diplomatic stations and military bases are at an increased level of readiness right now, which looks to be related to a very specific threat of some kind. Shooting from the hip (without any solid detail to go on), this could be related to an imminent Iranian nuclear test, or it could be related to Israel launching pre-emptive strikes to prevent such. Either way, the threat is extremely vague, but the heightened readiness seems real enough. Northern Ireland: Protests transitioned into rioting throughout several cities overnight, from a few different perspectives. Originally, riots broke out over the weekend in response to immigration issues and the assault of a child. However, as unrest has spread, opportunistic criminals have taken advantage of the fray to conduct looting that was unrelated to the initial incident. -HomeFront- USA: Counter-ICE protests have emerged in several major cities around the nation. So far, most of the more disruptive events have taken place in Los Angeles, Dallas, Austin, Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta, NYC, Providence, and Denver. Ohio: This morning evacuations were ordered for Vinton County after an industrial accident occurred at a local explosives factory in McArthur. Local authorities state that a very large tank of nitric acid began leaking at Austin Powders this morning, prompting the creation of a substantially large evacuation zone. The FAA has also placed a 30-mile Temporary Flight Restriction over the facility as the contents of the tank continue to present a hazard to the general area. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Last night the city of Los Angeles implemented a curfew for the city center, in an attempt to quell the rioting. Mass arrests were made in the DTLA area, however a state of civil unrest remains as demonstrations and protests have remained fairly persistent over the past week. Regarding the protest events for this weekend nationwide, roughly 1,655 events are scheduled for June 14th, most of which are being conducted and organized by the "No Kings" cause. Of course, it is highly likely that not all of these 1,600+ events will take place. However, there is always the possibility that areas which have no history of political unrest may be the recipient of general shenanigans this weekend. Analyst: S2A1 Research: //END REPORT//

Slight update, there are now two brushfires to contend with throughout the LA area. The Bethany Fire in Burbank is mostly under control right now, however the Ranch Fire in the vicinity of Apple Valley continues to be a concern. Just additional complexities to be aware of as the rioting continues overnight. Doesn't look like either will be a major factor for what's going on in the city, however it's worth making note of.

//The Wire//2300Z June 10, 2025// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: RIOTS CONTINUE TO SPREAD GLOBALLY. 17x COORDINATED IED BLASTS REPORTED IN COLOMBIA. MASS SHOOTING STRIKES AUSTRIA. STABBING ATTACKS CONTINUE IN SPAIN. UNREST AND RIOTING CONTINUES IN NORTHERN IRELAND.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Colombia: Overnight an IED was detonated at the Police Headquarters in Buenaventura, with no injuries being reported. This morning, 16x more IED blasts were reported throughout the nation. These blasts mostly took the form of Vehicle-Borne IEDs (VBIEDs), striking the city of Cali as well as some minor outlying areas. AC: These attacks are significant due to the level of coordination required to conduct these attacks at scale. So far, the casualty count is minimal, with most of the IEDs detonating after being parked at fixed sites such as police stations. Austria: A school shooting was reported at the BORG Dreierschützengasse high school Graz, resulting in 10x fatalities and over a dozen wounded. The suspect eliminated themselves after conducting the attack, and has not yet been identified by authorities. Spain: A city sanitation worker was stabbed in Cambrils yesterday. This comes after three men were arrested for stabbing another man in the same city two weeks ago. Northern Ireland: Riots broke out over the weekend following a series of high-profile assaults in Ballymena. What started out as peaceful protest transitioned into small-scale riots once darkness fell on Monday, with minor pockets of violence and arson continuing today. AC: As one might expect, details on this case are hard to verify as no mainstream media is providing details pertaining to the incident that started all of this. However, at face value this appears to be similar to the Rotheram Grooming Scandal that came to light in the U.K. last year. Locals in Northern Ireland state that two Romanian immigrants assaulted several young girls over the weekend, which resulted in the tipping point being reached in Ballymena. Locals set fire to the homes of the suspects, and have destroyed much of the migrant housing in the local area. Far East: Two Chinese PLAN aircraft carriers were observed operating in the waters off the coast of Iwo Jima overnight, marking the first time that both of China's aircraft carriers have been observed conducting joint exercises. -HomeFront- California: The Los Angeles Riots continue as before amid increasing National Guard deployment. 2/7 Marines began movement into the area yesterday, while the roughly 2,000 National Guard forces continue mobilization. Overnight, looting and rioting continued throughout the downtown LA area, with pockets of rioting emerging in Little Tokyo, the LA LIVE area, and Pershing Square. Most stores along Broadway were burglarized in the process by coordinated gangs of looters. Train service was halted for Little Tokyo, Chinatown, and Union Station due to unrest in and around the stations. Various ride-share and autonomous driving taxi companies have also begun to shut down services throughout Los Angeles, with Waymo vehicles being observed maneuvering out of the city early yesterday after several of their vehicles were set on fire. This afternoon, the rioting continued in the same locations as before, with the 101 being shut down due to protesters once again. Additionally, a possible small arms attack was conducted at the corner of Atlantic and Alondra in Compton. An unidentified male produced a firearm and pointed it at a police line down the street. AC: As this is a developing situation at the time of this report, many details are unclear. However, it's only a matter of time before small arms attacks take place, either directed at law enforcement or otherwise. Several gangs throughout the Los Angeles area have made statements indicating that they will defend their turf with lethal force, mostly in the context of rival gangs taking advantage of the fray to settle scores. Texas: Demonstrations were carried out yesterday in Dallas and Austin, which devolved into rioting overnight. Further demonstrations are expected throughout the week. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Yesterday LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell issued a press statement regarding the deployment of Marines throughout the city. The tone of the letter conveyed irritation, as the LAPD at the time had not been informed that the Marines were inbound. Consequently, this statement helps understand the management problems at the higher levels; communication problems persist both for technical AND political reasons. Right now, everyone is looking at the burning husk of Los Angeles and thinking that this is a repeat of the unrest of the early 2020s. This may be true, or it might be a precursor to something else. This distinction is most sharply observable via the deployment of certain assets throughout this crisis. In short, the Marines are not there to provide crowd control or even respond to civil unrest for the most part...they are there to mitigate (as best they can) the effects should a legitimate insurgency emerge, in addition to buying time for the National Guard to get spun up and in position. As attention-grabbing as it is for the nation to watch the B-roll of a car burning on live television, rioting and civil unrest can only get so bad before there's nothing left to burn or destroy, and everyone gets worn out. Right now, even as intense as it seems, the situation in Los Angeles is still a civil issue. The deployment of Marines (when the riots are not nearly as bad as in 2020) is very telling as it conveys the concern that the federal government has that this might not remain in the civil space for too much longer. If the situation in LA were to make the doctrinal transition from civil unrest into an insurgency, the types of units maneuvering and staging are the exact ones one would need to handle a more direct threat. How this situation will develop is anyone's guess, but at the moment quiet preparations are being made just in case these riots turn into something more serious. //The Wire//2300Z June 9, 2025// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: LOS ANGELES RIOTS CONTINUE, RIOTS IN OTHER MAJOR CITIES PLANNED. CHINESE RESEARCHER ARRESTED IN MICHIGAN.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -HomeFront- Michigan: This afternoon the DoJ announced the arrest of another Chinese national conducting research at the University of Michigan. In their press statement, the DoJ stated that Chengxuan Han was a Ph.D. student who had allegedly mailed biological material from China to the United States via the postal system some time ago. Han was arrested at the airport after landing in Detroit yesterday. California: Riots have continued throughout the Los Angeles area as local authorities become overwhelmed. Most of the rioting has been contained within the city center, however overnight roving bands of rioters began movement around the city, expanding unrest to other areas such as the *L.A. Live* area and the Convention Center. This afternoon U.S. NORTHCOM announced the deployment of 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division to the Los Angeles area, effective immediately. This deployment incorporates roughly 700x U.S. Marines, who's primary mission will be to provide point security at Key Terrain and critical infrastructure sites around the city. This is intended to supplement the National Guard resources already deployed, and help free up local law enforcement personnel to respond to more dynamic situations as the chaos continues. USA: The LA Riots have sparked additional events in many cities around the nation. There are over 1,000 protests planned in hundreds of cities around the United States, most of which are planned for June 14th. Almost all of these planned protest events are organized by large, well-funded organizations. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: The riots in Los Angeles have been made much worse by statements by local authorities. LAPD and LA County Sheriff officials have done everything in their power to distance themselves from the ICE raids that started all of this, and political leadership has worked to prevent police and National Guard soldiers from maintaining order. This has made problems worse for officers on the ground who continue to work with federal resources to keep control of the city; all while their leadership undermines their work to keep the peace. Overnight, reports leaked from within the LAPD that indicate Mayor Karen Bass personally interfered with operations by insisting that she assume command of the response instead of the Incident Commander. In this role, she allegedly intentionally delayed resources and hindered the response to maintain order. Though this will need to be investigated later, right now it seems as though Karen Bass put herself in charge of making decisions over the IC, and then promptly didn't make any decisions, stalling disaster response efforts. Governor Gavin Newsom has likewise made statements condemning the National Guard, and has demanded that they leave the city. Rep. Maxine Waters is on the ground and has been recorded verbally abusing National Guard soldiers on video several times. As such, though the personnel on the ground are doing the best they can, a very tenuous situation remains between local authorities and politicians in California, and the federal authorities seeking to maintain order. Ukraine has also continued drone strikes as before, with strikes being reported at Engels Airbase overnight. -HomeFront- Washington: The fugitive search for Travis Decker continues, with local authorities stating that he may be traveling along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Locals have been advised to remain observant, and keep windows and doors are locked throughout the area. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: This is a major hiking trail throughout the region, and is prone to heavy traffic in some sections this time of year. FENCE-JUMPER AT MAR-A-LAGO DETAINED.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -HomeFront- Florida: A fence-jumper was reported at Mar-a-Lago overnight, with one individual immediately being arrested by authorities. AC: This doesn't appear to be anything more than a mentally ill individual hopping a fence, however because these attacks are expressly so disarming in nature, this could also be more of a probing attack to test defenses for future targeting efforts. Considering the current threat environment, little incidents like this are certainly something to be aware of, just in case. Minnesota: The situation throughout the Twin Cities remains tenuous following multiple raids by federal agencies over the past few days. Operation SAFE SUMMER is a large-scale effort to crack down on criminal enterprises within the Minneapolis area, and has resulted in several high-profile raids of businesses linked to narcotics trafficking. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: In Minneapolis the resistance to raids has been elevated compared to other areas. Considering Minneapolis' political leadership granting "sanctuary" status to the city, this area has become a hotbed for everything from general crime, to more advanced Cartel operations. It is this latter activity that has been targeted by the raids; the feds are not necessarily going after illegals specifically this time, these raids are more about dismantling high-level criminal endeavors. Nevertheless, local outrage has been common from both Cartel members and activists alike, with substantial intelligence collection efforts being undertaken to alert locals to raids before they happen. Several NGOs have set up mapping efforts to alert criminals to the presence of ICE in their area. Analyst: S2A1 Research: //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 4, 2025// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: MANHUNT UNDERWAY IN WASHINGTON STATE. DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS CONTINUE BETWEEN THE USA/RUS.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Russia: This morning President Vladimir Putin spoke with President Trump by phone, with the phone call being reported as serious but positive by the White House. Specifically, President Trump stated that the call was "good" but also that it was "not a conversation that will lead to immediate peace". AC: At the moment, that's probably the best that the United States can hope for. Russia will indeed retaliate for Ukraine's recent drone attacks, though the time and place of such will be impossible to determine until it happens. -HomeFront- Illinois: An Uber driver was murdered over the weekend following an attempted carjacking/kidnapping in Columbia. At least two (but possibly four) assailants requested an Uber ride, but once inside the vehicle forced the driver at gunpoint to drive to his own home. The driver initially complied, however once he neared Columbia, he diverted to a local police station parking lot. The carjackers then murdered him, and fled to the south through a local park. As Uber logs a considerable amount of personal information, authorities immediately identified the killer as Kareem Weaver, who was arrested on Monday. AC: "Bad Rides" are becoming an increasingly common threat vector to be aware of. Not just for Uber drivers, but also for Uber passengers. Despite apps like Doordash and Uber very obviously logging who is using the app, criminals are still starting to commit crimes anyway without any thought of the extensive paper trail leading to themselves. Washington: A manhunt is underway following a series of horrific murders that took place over the weekend. Local authorities state that Travis Decker murdered his three children at Rock Island Campground after being granted visitation rights by a judge. Right now, authorities are conducting a search for Decker in the vicinity of his last known position in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Cellular data pinged Decker's phone within the Leavenworth area, which after a brief search by local authorities, resulted in his vehicle being found at the Rock Island Campground and the subsequent discovery of the crimes. The suspect is a 32-year-old Caucasian male, 5' 8" tall, 190 pounds, last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and shorts. All hotels and campgrounds have already been searched in the local area, with no success. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Locals have been warned to not make contact with Decker due to the safety concerns involved in this case. However due to the horrific nature of the crimes, many local volunteers have begun searches of their own (independent of what local authorities are working), just in case he made it out of the initial search area. This area is notoriously rugged terrain that offers much concealment to the fugitive, and offers many challenges to the pursuers. Decker has a three-day head start, but he is very likely to be on foot (as his abandoned vehicle was found near the campsite). The Wenatchee Police Department has stated that as of yesterday, they believe that he is still in the local area. As such, anyone who has information pertaining to Decker's location is urged to contact local authorities. Analyst: S2A1 Research: //END REPORT//

//The Wire//2300Z June 3, 2025// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: UNDERWATER SABOTAGE OPERATION CONDUCTED ON CRIMEAN BRIDGE. RIOTS ESCALATE IN FRANCE. IED FOUND ON BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- France: Large scale riots have continued throughout Paris following a local sports victory over the weekend. What originally began as routine celebrations immediately spun out of control to include widespread looting, property damage, and violence. In Grenoble, a vehicle ramming incident was reported as a driver drove into a crowd of people in the street, wounding 4x people. In the small town of Dax in southern France, a 17-year-old was stabbed to death by a mob. Russia: Various covert Ukrainian attacks have continued. Overnight, explosive charges detonated underwater under the Crimean Bridge, after satchel charges were placed there by Ukrainian (and probably American) frogmen some time ago. Ukraine has taken credit for the attack, and has claimed that 1,100 kg of explosives were used in the attack. In the statement provided on the attack, Ukraine specifically stated that this took several months to bring to fruition. -HomeFront- North Carolina: An improvised incendiary device was discovered on the Blue Ridge Parkway just outside of Asheville over the weekend. No details have been provided other than that the device was discovered in the vicinity of the Folk Art Museum. EOD personnel rendered the device safe, and a section of the Blue Ridge Parkway was briefly closed while the investigation was conducted. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: The explosive attack on the Crimean Bridge failed to destroy the pylons of the bridge, but this is yet another clandestine effort that took considerable skill to pull off. Regarding the details of the attack, the 1,100 kg figure seems to be dubious at best (due to the small size of the explosion, even taking into account that it was underwater), so it's possible that either this figure is exaggerated or some error prevented the high-order detonation of all of the explosives laid. However if this figure is accurate, this attack would have been one of the largest underwater sabotage operations in modern history. Considering the bridge has been targeted relentlessly by unmanned surface vessels, Russia's security around this bridge is substantial. This seemingly unimportant detail seems unremarkable, but the bridge is also a considerable distance from any Ukrainian-held position. As such, this is not just another day in Russia; this attack (if carried out in the manner speculated) was probably even harder to pull off than the drone attack of two days ago that has shifted the dynamic of warfare. If the claims made by Ukraine regarding this attack are accurate (and that's a big "if"), transporting this much explosive material could not have happened without direct support from the United States. Submersible vehicles and divers would have needed to work around the clock to transport that amount of explosives underwater from such a great distance. Conversely, if Ukraine/United States has developed some sort of new (or at least, newly operational) unmanned submersible that (most importantly) has the range AND precision to deliver and emplace explosives in this manner, it would be a new milestone in the field of warfare. In short, if divers carried out this attack, it was a very challenging task that only a small number of nations can successfully pull off, and if this attack was carried out by unmanned submersibles, this is still a comparatively new development in the operational status of such targeting methods. //The Wire//2300Z June 2, 2025// //PRIORITY// //BLUF: MAJOR ESCALATION IN RUSSIA AS UKRAINE STRIKES RUSSIA'S STRATEGIC BOMBER FORCE. MOLOTOV ATTACK OCCURS IN COLORADO.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Russia: At approximately 11:00pm Moscow time Sunday evening, Ukraine conducted a large-scale drone attack on military bases throughout Russia. Approximately 5-8 commercial cargo vehicles parked near critical military bases throughout the nation. Once parked, the drivers of these vehicles opened secret hatches cut into the tops of the cargo containers, from which dozens of Ukrainian drones were deployed in rapid succession. Within moments, these drones struck targets at several Russian military installations, ranging from airfields to supply depots. As of right now, four Russian airbases have been confirmed to be struck during the attacks: Ivanovo, Dyagilevo, Belaya, and Olenya Air Bases were all struck overnight. Various targets at Severomorsk and Severodvinsk Naval Bases appear to also have been struck, however this is unconfirmed at this time. Voskresensk Air Base is also claimed by some sources to have been struck during this attack, but this is also unconfirmed. All total, the initial assessment of battle damage indicates a total loss of 3x Tu-95 BEAR H bombers, with 5x more being damaged. Ukrainka Air Base was also targeted by Ukrainian drones, however this attack failed due to the defenses at this location. Ukraine has claimed credit for the attack, and has openly stated that the United States was made aware of the attack before it took place. The United States has denied these claims. -HomeFront- Colorado: Yesterday afternoon an arson attack took place in Boulder. Local authorities state that an assailant attacked a pro-Israel protest/demonstration in the vicinity of the historic Boulder County Courthouse. The attacker approached the protesters, using improvised incendiary devices to inflict burns on approximately 5x people attending the small demonstration. Concerning casualties, 2x victims were burned severely, and a several others suffered minor burns. The attacker has been identified as Mohammed Soliman, and authorities have claimed he is an illegal immigrant (specifically, a visa overstay) from Egypt. AC: Reports vary on the method of the attack; some sources claim the assailant used some sort of improvised flamethrower device, others state that he used Molotov cocktails in his attack. Either way, video evidence of the attack confirms the assailant was holding two Molotovs in his hands after the attack was conducted. Additionally, Soliman's statements during the fray also indicate he conducted the attack in support of the Palestinian movement. Considering the recent shift in federal agencies' priorities concerning this issue, the fallout of this incident is probably going to be a very big deal in many different ways. Oregon: Yesterday afternoon a mass stabbing attack was reported at the Union Gospel Mission in Salem. 11x people were wounded in the attack, and the assailant was detained at the scene. AC: Very few details have come to light regarding this incident, and the assailant has not been identified yet. However, this facility is a homeless shelter, so at the moment the most likely theory is that the attack is the result of a mental health incident. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: From time to time, a new aspect of modern war comes to light that changes the dynamic of the modern battlespace in ways that most of us cannot possibly fathom. This happened over the weekend in Russia. While the drone attack on Russian airfields was not a new tactic by any means, it is expressly for this reason that this attack was special: most nations around the world have been waiting for someone to try this attack vector, and now it's actually happened. While the supporters of Ukraine may rejoice at this development, this is the first time that a nuclear superpower has had this much damage occur to their First Strike capability within their own homeland, which is mixed-news at best. It is truly remarkable and impressive that Ukraine was able to pull this off with much success; this attack will be written about in the history books, without question. Ukraine (and the American advisors who probably helped, at least passively) are certainly worthy of all of the praise for this great military *tactical* victory. A quick look at a map will show how impressive this attack was, and how it has changed the battlespace. The farthest-struck target was an airbase almost 3,000 miles from Ukraine's borders. Of course, the drones themselves were launched only a short distance from their target, but overall this attack proves that nowhere is safe. Nowhere in Russia...nowhere, anywhere. As such, one might surmise that this may be a pyrrhic victory at best...if Russia levels Kiev with a few IRBMs, the grand strategy of this attack (and retroactively the Kursk Offensive as well) may be called into question. In short, it may not have been worth it. Two weeks ago, Ukraine was looking at the chance for peace at the cost of losing terrain. An unfortunate situation to be in, to be sure. It does not make it morally right, but Russia is indeed a superpower...and Ukraine is not. Two weeks ago, the loss of two or three districts was on the menu. Now, all of them are. And what is more, if Russia even slightly suspects that the United States had a hand in approving this strike, very serious things may happen very soon. Remember, morality and fairness are not often reflected in modern war. Ukraine being 100% within their right to defend their homeland isn't likely to make anyone feel any better if we start seeing asymmetric warfare being waged by a nationstate actor in the American homeland. Though many will argue over what this attack means, it's worth considering the cold hard fact that there is a limit to how much the United States can assist and support her allies without becoming a target herself. It is possible that we passed this point last night. If the United States was indeed informed of the attack beforehand (as Ukrainian sources claim), this means that Russia will likely point the finger at the United States even more than they already have. Many will be quick to draw a link between the recent statements by President Donald Trump, and this major military downfall for Russia...Trump said "bad things" would happen, and indeed they have. Russia will also be quick to reflect on the timing of all of this. This attack was not planned overnight. Russia is not likely to dismiss the fact that at the exact same time that President Trump was berating Putin for escalating the war, Ukraine (and undoubtedly the United States) was planning this attack and the spies and operatives who conducted this attack were already inside Russia. Chastising a nation for being a warmonger, when you at the same moment have snuck clandestine operatives into that nation to carry out an attack, does not bode well for diplomacy. Peace is not only off of the table, but sharp escalations are also very likely imminent as this business gets out of hand. Again, the perspective of how serious this situation has become is hard to explain without a clear analogy. Imagine, for a moment, that a Mexican Cartel were to launch a drone attack here in the United States, flying kamizake drones into the wings of the B-52's sitting on the unprotected tarmac at Barksdale Air Force Base. And to continue the analogy, imagine if that Cartel told us that China knew about the attack beforehand, right around the exact same time that China was accusing *us* of escalating the situation. The United States would be at war with China by the end of the day, if that situation were to occur here at home. Though this is a fictional "what if" scenario, this has been a very significant threat to the domestic American homeland for some time, and that can of worms may have just been opened by America's ally in Europe. Here in the United States, this is a particular worry. In government (especially in the world of defense strategy), sometimes a vulnerability is found that is so exceptionally severe that there's nothing that can be done about it, so it's easier to ignore the issue altogether, or provide some feeble attempt to defend against it. It's rare, but this does occasionally happen. Defense analysts have been thinking about this problem set for many years, and right now there isn't any good solution. One of the most concerning attack methods has been the scenario of drone swarm attacks conducted from secret locations inside one's own homeland. Many Americans think that there is some sort of magical air defense system to prevent this kind of attack, but this simply does not exist yet. The United States already has a hard time defending against ICBMs, as evidenced by the comparatively (and legendary) low success rate of interceptors. But for small drones launched within a few miles of their projected impact site, there quite literally is no defense that is feasible at scale right now. SHORAD batteries (or Short Range Air Defense batteries) don't defend against smaller drones, and the United States doesn't have enough of these types of defenses to cover every military base anyway, much less civilian centers. Point defense via jammers is hopeful at best, and largely negated now that fiber-optically controlled drones are becoming the industry standard. And America's "Golden Dome" system is still on the drawing board, and thus likely to be far too little, far too late, in the event that it's needed. And now that Ukraine has seen fit to confirm one of the defense industry's long held fears, the potential for this exact scenario to happen in the United States is now a legitimate concern. This is no longer a theory, it's been operationally proven to be a viable attack method. Bottom line: If this same style of attack were to be used by malign actors (supported by a foreign nation) in the United States, there's nothing we could do about it. The bulk of the aircraft in the U.S. Air Force could be neutralized before they even got off the ground and nobody would know what happened until it's all over. And all of this could theoretically be done by a foreign nationstate that has the same GDP as Nebraska. This highlights an unfortunate yet contentious problem with the entire Ukraine War. Any nationstate, when so invaded by the ground force of another nation, certainly has the right to defend their homeland. This is one of the defining characteristics of a nationstate. However, when that war starts to affect things outside the local sphere, tougher questions start being asked. If thermite grenades start being dropped on the wings of F-35's at JB Langley-Eustis (as this specific base has quietly made preparations to defend against this exact threat) the idea of the whole war becomes a bit more complicated. In short, it's easy to have thoughts on a war that is not in one's homeland. And it's easy support someone defending their homeland on the far side of the world. But it's also easy to forget that in doing so, one may bring a war from someone else's homeland...to their own. These are the careful considerations not made by those cheering on either side in this war; this conflict has always had the potential to spread beyond the borders of Ukraine, and is now especially likely to do so now that a nationstate is engaging in asymmetric warfare tactics on a national level. TENSIONS EASE SOMEWHAT ALONG CAMBODIAN BORDER.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Cambodia: The situation has de-escalated somewhat following the border clash reported earlier this week. Both Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to withdraw the troops that both had built up in the area of the initial incident, though diplomatically the ceasefire remains somewhat uncertain. AC: If both parties can de-escalate the situation, the chance of a large conflagration is much reduced. However, since this is a long-standing border dispute, things can always flare back up again at any point. -HomeFront- Indiana: A domestic shooting took place in Gibson County, resulting in 3x fatalities and 1x remaining in critical condition. The suspect, who has been identified as Patrick Waite, confessed to the murders and was arrested at the scene. Washington D.C. - Developments involving tariffs have continued this week, to various economic impact. This afternoon (after the closing bell) the White House announced an increase in the tariffs on US Steel from 25% to 50% in order to further incentivize local production. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: In the United Kingdom, the suspect in this week's vehicle ramming attack in Liverpool has been identified as Paul Doyle. This rapid identification and disclosure of the suspect's name is extremely uncharacteristic of British authorities, who normally conceal the identities of some terrorists/assailants. Nevertheless, as one might expect, the internet immediately began digging into this individual's life in search of a reason as to why the attack might have been conducted. So far, every possible conceivable theory has been suggested, without really much confirmation of anything. However, as time goes on answers will arrive, though it may be a while before the truth comes out. Analyst: S2A1 Research: //END REPORT//

DETAILS EMERGE REGARDING SHOOTING IN COLORADO.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Russia: Over the past few days, various journalistic media groups have claimed to be the recipient of a large number of classified documents pertaining to Russia's nuclear arsenal and readiness procedures. Specifically, claims have been made that this leak encompasses more than two million documents and is the largest leak of military information in Russia's history. AC: The media groups making these claims have not released any solid details yet, so until actual evidence comes forth, there's no possible way to determine if any of this is true. As a reminder, this very specific situation has happened before: Journalists have claimed to have something exceptionally damaging to Russia and when it's released it turns out to be nothing at all. On the other hand, Russia also has a history of accidentally leaking highly classified information on live television (such as their intercontinental nuclear torpedo, the Status-6 project). As such, until something becomes public there's no way to interpret these claims. Mexico: Multiple mass graves have been discovered this week. The remains of 5x musicians have been recovered from a vacant lot in the border town of Reynosa, after they were reported missing a few days ago. Further into Mexico's interior, the remains of 17x cartel victims were recovered from a mass grave located inside a vacant house in Abasolo. -HomeFront- Washington D.C. - Elon Musk has announced that he is no longer affiliated with DOGE, as his 130-day tenure as a temporary government employee has come to an end. AC: This "role-reduction" is probably for several reasons. Since his work at DOGE was never really advertised as a permanent position, this departure is not really that out of the ordinary. However, this is a flimsy excuse at best; the White House could have always pencil-whipped whatever paperwork needed to allow his continued work at DOGE. The real reason behind him stepping back to the private sector is probably for reasons surrounding the latest omnibus spending bill not including a single reduction in inefficiency identified by DOGE. Musk made comments against Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill", and now he's out. Somewhat ironically, the U.S. Department of Efficiency has an efficiency rate of zero percent, as not one single inefficiency in government spending identified by this department has been codified in law. Whether or not Musk's departure will mean the death of DOGE is anyone's guess, but as it stands, DOGE never really lived in the first place. Colorado: More details have come to light following a suspected domestic shooting that took place in Colorado Springs last Saturday. 6x people were shot during the battle, with 1x fatality reported at the scene, and 5x others remaining in critical condition. Multiple shooters have been reported in conjunction with this incident, some of which are the individuals that were shot. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: This seems like a small detail, but the shootout in Colorado Springs is a case study that may serve as a barometer for how the summer might go. Initially, this incident was reported as a routine shooting and/or a possible active shooter situation in the vicinity of Potter Drive. However, follow-on information suggests this was not simply a shoot-and-scoot engagement, but was actually a protracted small arms skirmish that lasted several minutes. If local groups, gangs, or just normal street criminals become empowered in a local area to the point where they shift into standing their ground during a gunfight (instead of breaking contact as is what normally happens when the shooting starts), this could signal that local criminals are more emboldened than previously assessed. While this doesn't mean much right now, and this is certainly an isolated case study, this will be a careful detail to remember as the summer crime season heats up nationwide. //The Wire//2300Z May 28, 2025// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: BORDER SKIRMISH REPORTED BETWEEN CAMBODIA AND THAILAND. LOCAL UNREST CONTINUES IN SEATTLE.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Southeast Asia: Border clashes erupted overnight between Cambodia and Thailand. A brief small arms skirmish in the vicinity of Chong Bok resulted in 1x Cambodian border guard being killed by Thai forces. Both Cambodia and Thailand have stated that the other party started the skirmish; Cambodia claims an entrenched position they were dug into was ambushed, while Thailand claims that Cambodia was digging a new trench on their side of the line and Thailand's soldiers were trying to warn Cambodian soldiers away from the area. -HomeFront- Washington: Low-level unrest has continued following the activation of ANTIFA elements to oppose the presence of Christian groups within the city. Yesterday, following the statements by city officials, Pursuit NW, the Christian Church group at the center of the recent concert/prayer vigil scandal decided to host a First Amendment Event on the steps of City Hall, to call for the resignation of the Mayor for the city's statements on the situation. As expected, their presence immediately sparked a riot which lasted until the evening. 8x rioters were arrested, all of which affiliated with ANTIFA. Virginia: Another boil water advisory has been announced for the Richmond area as the local water treatment plant experienced issues with increased turbidity and clogged filters. AC: This is a recurring issue for Richmond. Back in January the boil advisory was in place for five days, which resulted in most restaurants remaining closed during that time due to health code regulations. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: What actually happened along the Cambodian border is anyone's guess, however this area has been disputed by both nations for many years. Nevertheless, border clashes are usually one of the early indicators of old wounds being re-opened, so this will be a development to follow just in case it escalates. So far, both nations have begun moving more troops to this area, and have begun staging for posturing operations, so the potential for this to get out of hand remains a possibility. //The Wire//2300Z May 27, 2025// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: UKRAINE WAR RHETORIC INTENSIFIES. STATEMENTS CONTINUE FOLLOWING WEEKEND RIOT IN SEATTLE. DETAILS EMERGE REGARDING LAST WEEK'S VANDALISM IN TEXAS.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Europe: Rhetoric concerning the war in Ukraine continues to escalate, as both President Trump and the Kremlin trade insults and less-than-friendly messaging. In response to the latest Russian drone strikes in Ukraine, President Trump stated that Putin was "playing with fire" regarding these developments. In response to this, former Russian Prime Minister (and current Deputy Chair of Russia's Security Council) Dmitry Medvedev stated that the "bad thing" that President Trump alluded to is WW3. AC: This is a classic Medvedev statement; invoking threats of WW3 is a fairly standard Tuesday for Dima, as Medvedev (echoing his former role as Prime Minister) often serves as the more informal conveyor of what Putin is thinking. To the casual observer it may not seem like it, but the situation is not openly hostile yet. However, the diplomacy being conducted between the United States and Russia is heating up nonetheless. -HomeFront- Pennsylvania: Overnight, a small arms engagement was reported at Lemon Hill Park in Philadelphia. 2x were killed, and 9x others were wounded. 1x person was also struck by a vehicle during the fray caused by the shooting. Local authorities state that three separate shooters have been counted as partaking in the incident, based on the shell casings found at the scene. AC: Very few details have been released regarding the cause of the shooting, or why a large group of people was gathered in this park late at night. At first glance this appears to be a gang shooting and/or the result of a domestic dispute, though more details are needed. Texas: More details have come to light following acts of vandalism that were reported throughout Austin last week. Three separate facilities were defaced with graffiti on May 21st, and yesterday it became known that all three facilities were linked to various Islamic institutions in the area. One was a Mosque and the other two sites were cultural centers. A vigil has been scheduled for May 29th in response to the acts of vandalism, and the Austin Police Department has announced a rigorous increase in patrols, along with undercover operations to prevent further vandalism. Washington: A small riot broke out over the weekend in Seattle as a concert and prayer vigil was held in Cal Anderson Park. The event, which largely involved various performances by Christian musical groups and various prayer vigils, was hosted by Pursuit Northwest, a local Christian organization. The event (which was permitted and approved by the government), became host to violence as ANTIFA activists arrived and began assaulting the police officers guarding the perimeter of the event. 27x rioters were arrested for assaulting police at the event. None of the event participants were arrested; 100% of the violence took place between ANTIFA activists and police. However, all of the rioters who assaulted police were immediately released by a local judge on Monday. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Though it may be surprising to some, the events over the weekend in Seattle are not out of the ordinary, and merely reflect the regional norm when it comes to those who practice the Christian faith in the region. Any type of display of Christianity in Seattle is usually met with violence, so the outcome being violence conducted on those attending the event was to be expected. In this case, extreme violence was very much going to be the result from the very start...holding a prayer vigil in a park named after the first openly gay Congressman in Washington was very much going to result in a kinetic response by locals. However, one important detail that has come to light is that this exact park, Cal Anderson Park, was suggested by the city as having enough space for the event when the group applied for it's permit. This confirms that the Mayor's earlier statements that the group intentionally chose the park for their prayer event for malicious reasons is indeed, a lie. The permitting office chose the venue, not the group itself. Also expected is quite literally every single entity involved blaming the prayer group for having the audacity to hold a properly-permitted event in the park. The Seattle Police Officer's Guild has expressed anger not solely at the ANTIFA members who showed up and began beating their officers, but at the City's Parks and Recreation Department for issuing the Christian group a legal permit to be there. Likewise, every single government entity in Seattle that is involved in this situation has condemned not the rioters who started the violence, but those who had a legal permit to pray in public. Similarly all mainstream media sources have condemned the Christian group for being there, and not the actual rioters. This may be an uncomfortable reality for many to acknowledge, as it seems unthinkable for this kind of thing to happen in the United States. It is simply unimaginable that in the United States, a Christian group can hold a government-approved prayer vigil in public, and the media and police alike blame the Christians when violent rioters show up and cause problems. But this is indeed exactly what happened. This is simply the reality of how far the persecution of Christianity has gone in this area...a norm that is not new by any means, but is becoming more solidified and openly and proudly stated even by some government agencies at this point. //The Wire//2300Z May 26, 2025// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: FRIDAY'S BLACKOUT IN FRANCE REVEALED TO BE INTENTIONAL ACT OF SABOTAGE. GANG WAR RESULTS IN MASS STABBING AT AUSTRALIAN SHOPPING CENTER. VEHICLE RAMMING ATTACK REPORTED IN LIVERPOOL.//  -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- France: The electrical blackout that took place near Cannes on Friday has been designated as an act of deliberate sabotage. Transmission lines were cut and an electrical substation was set on fire by activists targeting the Cannes Film Festival. Australia: A gang dispute resulted in a mass stabbing at Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne. Local authorities state that two rival gangs planned to meet up at the location to engage in mutual combat, and that the violence was not an instance of random targeting. Nevertheless, many people were wounded in the skirmish, and it remains unclear as to if any genuine bystanders were wounded in the attack. United Kingdom: This afternoon a vehicle ramming attack was reported in Liverpool as an unidentified man drove his vehicle into a crowd of people on Water Street as they celebrated a sports victory around the city. Concerning the casualties, 47x people have been reported wounded so far, with 27x being hospitalized. AC: As expected, authorities have not released many details pertaining to this incident. Authorities have stated that one individual, a 53-year-old male, was arrested at the scene. However, authorities notably did *not* state whether or not this individual was the driver of the vehicle. For context of why this distinction matters, immediately after the vehicle came to a stop, bedlam immediately broke out, with football fans attempting to cause violence to the driver (as one might expect). Consequently, police moved in to detain the driver, which in turn resulted in dozens of individuals physically assaulting the police officers attempting to protect the driver. Due to the carefully-worded statements by officials, some have speculated that the man who was arrested was actually one of the football fans engaging in this behavior, and not the driver. In any case, many people were detained at the scene of the incident, though it's unclear as to if any were arrested. Regarding the motive for the attack, it's not entirely clear. This was not a planned street event, so even though there was a police presence, there was no traffic control and there were no barricades in place. However, video footage of the incident strongly indicates that the driver did aim his vehicle toward (and accelerated into) the densely-packed crowd. What the truth actually is, only time will tell. There were no explosives or stabbings reported in conjunction with this incident, so it could equally have been a situation of deliberate opportunistic terrorism, a case of road-rage, or some other mental-health crisis. Europe: The conflict between Russia and Ukraine intensified over the weekend, with both sides engaging in heavy fighting. Russia, having completely erased the effects of Ukraine's Kursk Offensive, has now begun their counteroffensive mostly in the form of missile and drone strikes. Earlier last week, Ukraine stepped-up drone attacks on soft-targets, conducting very large scale drone attacks deep inside Russia. AC: Due to the challenges of determining who-started-what with this war, the timeline of what has occurred on the eastern front is hard to verify. What is certain is that Ukraine did conduct another large-scale drone offensive targeting Moscow, which resulted in President Putin's helicopter being caught in the fray during the attack. This does not mean that this was explicitly a direct assassination attempt as is being claimed by various Russian sources, but it does mean that the same effect was almost achieved. Either way the stakes keep going up, and the potential for peace continues to dwindle. -HomeFront- Louisiana: Over the weekend, an electrical brownout was reported throughout parts of New Orleans. The grid operator, Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) was unable to meet demand and ordered load shedding throughout the area. AC: Though thankfully in this case the loss of electricity to a major American city during a major holiday weekend was not an act of sabotage, it still does not bode well for the status of the electrical grid at large as the temperatures over the weekend were only in the upper 80's, and reached a high of 90°F. If the grid is struggling now, this could present more challenges when the true heat of summer arrives. South Carolina: A mass shooting was reported at a cultural event in Myrtle Beach. Following a domestic argument, a small arms skirmish broke out onboard a civilian vessel hosting participants of the Atlantic Beach Black Pearl Cultural Heritage and Bike Festival event, with 11x people being wounded. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Details are sketchy at the moment, however the Myrtle Beach shooting was complicated by an entirely separate shooting that occurred at roughly the same time and place. A police officer at the Harbourgate Marina accidentally shot himself in the leg while attempting to respond to the shooting that was underway two miles up the waterway to the northeast. In the fray it was initially reported that the officer was involved in this skirmish, however this was an entirely separate incident. More generally, it is surprising that more people weren't killed during this rather infamous event. Known colloquially as "Black Bike Week" or the "Atlantic Beach Bikefest" by event goers and locals alike, this yearly festival/motorcycle event is infamous for bringing violence and murder to Myrtle Beach every single Memorial Day weekend. Normally, participants engage in general debauchery and light vandalism, but there's also usually a sharp rise in small arms engagements whenever the large crowds of participants (which usually number around half a million in total) roll into town.
