“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold. The rich and the poor meet together; the Lord is the Maker of them all. The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life. Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭1‬-‭2‬, ‭4‬, ‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ #truth #wisdom #faith #hope #love (wallpaper courtesy of Tom B Wallpaper) image

Gigi, I have continued to enjoy 21 Lessons, but I have a question. On page 99, in the chapter on Move Slowly and Don’t Break Things, there’s a reference to future upgrades. Would you be able to expand on this concept, as it relates to things being discussed about whats included in the blockchain. Just trying to understand better. @Gigi

“A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent. Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the Lord, but those of blameless ways are his delight.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭2‬, ‭9‬, ‭12‬, ‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. #truth #wisdom #faith #hope #love

Friends, normally when I post selections of daily Proverbs it’s fairly short. This morning’s selection is the entire chapter 10, so enjoy it 😊 Among other wisdom notice how the author points out the many body parts and the wickedness of sin. “The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother. Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death. The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked. A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame. Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot. The wise of heart will receive commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin. Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out. Whoever winks the eye causes trouble, and a babbling fool will come to ruin. The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses. On the lips of him who has understanding, wisdom is found, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks sense. The wise lay up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool brings ruin near. A rich man’s wealth is his strong city; the poverty of the poor is their ruin. The wage of the righteous leads to life, the gain of the wicked to sin. Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray. The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool. When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is of little worth. The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense. The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. Doing wrong is like a joke to a fool, but wisdom is pleasure to a man of understanding. What the wicked dreads will come upon him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted. When the tempest passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous is established forever. Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him. The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short. The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish. The way of the Lord is a stronghold to the blameless, but destruction to evildoers. The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land. The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭10‬:‭1‬-‭32‬ ‭ESV‬‬ #truth #wisdom #faith #hope #love image

“My son, keep your father’s commandment, and forsake not your mother’s teaching. Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck. When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you. For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life, to preserve you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the adulteress. Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes; for the price of a prostitute is only a loaf of bread, but a married woman hunts down a precious life. Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned? Or can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched? So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife; none who touches her will go unpunished.” ‭‭ Proverbs‬ ‭6‬:‭20‬-‭29‬ ‭ESV‬‬ #truth #wisdom #faith #hope #love image

“Should your springs be scattered abroad, streams of water in the streets? Let them be for yourself alone, and not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love. Why should you be intoxicated, my son, with a forbidden woman and embrace the bosom of an adulteress? For a man’s ways are before the eyes of the Lord, and he ponders all his paths. The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is held fast in the cords of his sin. He dies for lack of discipline, and because of his great folly he is led astray.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭23‬ ‭ESV‬‬ #truth #wisdom #faith #hope #love image

To all my FF brothers (there may be a few in here) In case you didn’t know it’s International Firefighters Day! Even if it’s only here in digital cyberspace, still it’s a celebration of you and what you have chosen to do as a career in serving others. I for one, celebrate you and I know somewhere deep down our families are thankful for our service and what we’ve given of ourselves. You are absolutely amazing at what you do and how you do it. You are passionate and driven and you persevere through to the finish. Its not over until everyone goes home safe. And I mean taking our last breath. That is from me, not some pansy ass. That is a compliment by the way. Own it 😊 Now, repeat after me: “I can take a compliment and hold it in my heart for more than just a fleeting moment.” That is all ❤️🔥

Dads and moms, if you have kids (and even if you don’t) may I recommend an incredible resource: Webster’s 1828 dictionary. For years it was only available in reprint but more recently came online. It’s one thing to speak in language but another thing entirely to really understand the original meaning of words. This is one of the best kept homeschooling secrets (but you can have it for free!) image

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ #truth #wisdom #faith #hope #love

Asking this for the benefit of future bitcoiners, honest question: do you have a story about a senior using bitcoin for anything, layer 1, lightning, whatever. I am compiling stories to help in my book writing for older folks to have used bitcoin as a means of exchange. There is no story too small. Bitcoin is not scary. If they would be interested I would love to talk with them also. That might be a bit much, but, if it’s not please reach out. Thank you! #asknostr

The only thing worse than sin is pretending it’s not a thing, which is proof of more sin. There’s no winning this battle. Thankful for the finished work of Jesus cause I’d really be a mess otherwise #jesus #wisdom #faith #hope #love

“When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you, To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things, From those who leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness; Who rejoice in doing evil, And delight in the perversity of the wicked; Whose ways are crooked, And who are devious in their paths; To deliver you from the immoral woman, From the seductress who flatters with her words, Who forsakes the companion of her youth, And forgets the covenant of her God. For her house leads down to death, And her paths to the dead; None who go to her return, Nor do they regain the paths of life— So you may walk in the way of goodness, And keep to the paths of righteousness. For the upright will dwell in the land, And the blameless will remain in it; But the wicked will be cut off from the earth, And the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬-‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ #truth #wisdom #faith #hope #love

Single men this is for you. You want to grow? You want to take life by the horns and do great things? Start a family. I always wanted to but found a lot of other things to occupy my time, reasons not to commit to a monogamous marriage with a woman, not truly understanding that I would never get that time back. Selfishly but unknowingly also depriving my parents of grandchildren. But, when I finally did, I had no thought it could be this good. Men you need to experience this, with as many or as few children as God gives you. Specifically men I’m speaking to because you don’t know what you do not know (ask me how I know). How then can you live without some very important details? Future generations don’t just appear. Get busy and lay down your life for your family. It’s counter culture to declare but it really is the best. Bless your family with children and grandchildren. AND don’t take for granted you and your wife can even bear children. There are surprising number of us that can not, no matter what is tried, so don’t assume you can always have children. I’ve seen this and it’s real. If you’re a young couple trying to have children let me know and I will pray for you. Life isn’t perfect and neither is having children. As a dad of a blended family with both biological and adopted kids I have some experience, and that’s why I’m writing this for you. Men, get off zero. Start a family (IMHO have as many kids as you can; yes I’m an advocate for a large family. But, like bitcoin you don’t usually see it at first.) Get out of your own way. That and read Men and Marriage by George Gilder. Great book to drive this point in ways I could never. Ladies, you’re welcome. Peace and love

“Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares. She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words: ‘How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity?’ For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge. Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. ‘Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord, They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬-‭30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ #truth #wisdom #faith #hope #love image
