Hiking the PCT. Any sats donated will be transferred to my brother on the trail.
Day 18:
Low miles today, but tons of elevation.
The trail is washed out in this area, so instead of walking the trail (impossible) and gaining 1500 feet over 10 miles, we are hiking directly up over a mountain ridge.
We gained 1500 feet over 1 mile.
We started in the river basin pictured below.

Crazy to think I was walking up and down this mountain 2 days ago.
Day 17:

We are in Mission Creek. Made it nearly 24 miles yesterday.

We are planning on 222 miles today. Mostly downhill.

Today we will descend from 5000 ft elevation to 1000 ft. The town at the bottom of the descent is called White Water.
Once we hit the town, we start climbing again. The trail is reported to be washed out from town - 10 miles.

Good Morning. Today we continue onwards along the Pacific Crest Trail. 180 miles hiked so far.

We made it back on trail and are 0.2 miles from tonight’s camp.

We are back on the trail. Weather has been a challenge, but we came here to hike the PCT, onwards.

My first snowman. Can’t wait to get back on the trail.

In town waiting out a storm coming in this weekend. We will get back on the trail Sunday morning.
