Great interview: I was 15 and lucky enough to be third row for White Zombie, Reverend Horton Heat, Babes in Toyland, and Kyuss at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre. I remember going out before the show and buying Kyuss records and just being blown away. Years later, in 2000, I got to hang out with Josh Homme and Queens of the Stone Age when they played an in-store gig at Magic Platter while they were on the Ozzfest tour. Josh and the band signed my copy of Rated R. I remember sitting cross-legged on the floor in this tiny space, so close to his stompboxes I could have reached out and touched them. Such a good time. Good memories. - -

Current hot sauce in the rotation. Cholula—an old staple, but a good one. 🌶️ As I get out on the road, I’m planning to make a habit of trying new hot sauces along the way.

I have known men to hazard their fortunes, go long journeys halfway about the world, forget friendship, even lie, cheat, and steal, all for the gain of a book. — A. S. W. Rosenbach, Books and Bidders #IKITAO

This is an old argument. Years ago, some people were pushing the idea that likes were meaningless because they were free, and that clients should basically be zap-only. I think the power of choice wins. An emoji response and a zap can mean different things. If you want every interaction with your posts to be transactional, build that client and use it. Like it, reply, repost, zap—or do nothing. How people interact with your content should be up to them. View quoted note →
