Someone tell me if this could work : Hash videos and audio files of important events or speeches or lectures, be a bit of a spammer and put those hashes into a block, and then future people can reference those to see if a recording is legit. Assuming the first copy was legit, of course. Here's the problem : I looooove listening to old lectures. Lately, I've been catching these recordings actually being AI fakes. Richard Feynman and Alan Watts are both being faked a lot right now. Its their voice - but I never heard that lecture, and its doing the "this not that" thing a lot... They're fake. We're not going to have any history if this continues. The fake stuff will drown out the real stuff.

A couple years ago, when the Russia-Ukraine war was still a new (ish) thing, I was talking with someone I know who is very left leaning, and very convinced that Russia was doomed. I told him 'no way - its going to use this to regain the military professionalism it has lost from disuse and become a real powerhouse.' He called Russia a paper tiger, then also called the US a paper tiger. Now, with a bit more time to see, it appears I was right. I'm still too polite to say it out loud, but I have to say it somewhere... I was right, and every media article about it in the whole world was wrong. Well... Russia media probably wasn't, but I'm not reading it. What I really want to say to all lefties : aren't you tired of being wrong? Stop listening to the propaganda... Think for yourself. And give me cookie, I earned it.

The world that comes is the world we imagine. A good story needs a protagonist and an antagonist, as well as a beginning, middle 1, middle 2, and climax - store energy, release fail, store more energy, release succeed. And repeat, same pattern at the previous stability achieved. Everything follows the story pattern, and everything is a story. In the mid 20th century, we got a lot of novels and comics that could be called "techno-optimism." But we failed to achieve... **_any_** ... of the predictions. No lunar colony, no nuclear propulsion, no flying cars, no 5 hour work week. By any rational metric, civilization contracted even while technology progressed. And technology even contracted in a way - it inverted, where before ideas became physical, now ideas become virtual. Living standards fell, thanks to the criminal syndicate ruling the world via central banks. Lifespans are on average 3 years shorter now. Everything that could be captured and corrupted has been. We're in a dark age. Whether its limited to a mini dark age or a massive historical dark age depends on us. 99% of getting stuff done is getting ready to get it done, and 99% of getting ready is living in the correct story. Want the doomer future? Live in the doomerist story. Want the beautiful abundant future? Live in the beautiful story. I think we need new techno optimist stories. If you have the ability to create such stories, I think its time to start machine gunning them out into the world. Saturate everything in your vision of the optimistic future. Make the optimistic future the water that the fish don't know is there. If the future arrives in a four act play, we're in the third act. The stage was set in the 1950's. The antagonists made their move in the 60's and have definitively ruled the board since 1972. In the third act, we have the despair of the failed release in the previous act and are at that crucial moment where we store more energy, guided by some mysterious force. Next comes the release, and we will launch up into the solar system, maybe even the galaxy, and millions of new communities will form at the next higher level, setting the stage for the next story. But its all a story, and it can only happen if we decide now to tell the story we want. Write it!
