Something strange comes out when you try mathing the number of vernacular bibles printed in 1522 in the city of Wittenberg. I can't make these numbers make sense... According to citable sources, 3-5k bibles were printed that year, in that city, from just 3-5 print shops. But my estimations are requiring dozens to potentially over a hundred print shops to achieve that many copies. There's a lot of unknowns and a wide margin for error, but taking that into consideration, I still can't get it down to 3-5 print shops. I give it every conceivable benefit of the doubt... Doesn't work.
I've had a hunch for a long time that the Reformation was a very planned event. I can only speculate about the reasons, though those speculations are entertaining. My main line of thinking was that the fruit of the Reformation was basically all bad - Calvinism is just a very badly concealed justification for usury, then the first central bank was founded in the homeland of Calvinism, the Netherlands, then they used that financing to invade England to install a Protestant king, then you get the abolition of the monasteries in England, and the Puritans and their relocation to America, and now a very widespread literalist/evangelical interpretation of the Bible that is noticeably hostile (you can test this) to words straight from Jesus' mouth that don't align with their idolatrous beliefs. Where's the good in any of this? I can't find it... Bad fruits, bad tree.
But now I have numbers... Those early prints don't add up. Not even close. All citable sources are fudging the fuck outta it. Conspiracy found!
I just got feeling back in my right eye. Not all the feeling... But its better than nothing. It hurt, though. For like 10 seconds, it felt like my eye was bring stabbed. I hope it stays. Sensation has been going up and down my right cheek for weeks.
