A concrescence of Mind fumbling with the controls of this meat chariot. Nostr only !
๐Ÿค” if something is irrational, then the outcome is the point. This thought just struck me as I was working a practice problem and noticed the professor called an octene "gasoline." Not the same, but it set up a nice problem. Then realized it applies to everything...
I should be studying for the final exam, but instead I'm researching nickel toxicicity and how to reverse it. There's a lot... There's definitely some options. But one thing came up - NAC - that we've probably all heard of from the covid debacle. It looks like if you did 4 main things, you could probably reverse nickel damage to your genome/epigenome and minimize cancer risk and maybe even reverse cancer with a little extra push from some drug. First, get plenty of iron so iron is available to replace the nickel after dislodging it, and yes it must be dislodged cuz it realllllly tightly binds your DNA. Then, simultaneously, focus on a "methylation diet" and in particular go for the B vitamins and Betaine (just in case you have the motherfucker gene). You need all four parts of that diet, but maybe some parts more, depending. Third, use NAC and eat broccoli. Your cells need NAC to upregulate metallothioneins, which grab the Ni2+ off the phosphate they're glued to. The broccoli is good because sulphoraphane opens up the chromatin loops that wound around the Ni. And fourth, have fasting days. That puts the pin in it, remethylating the genes that got demethylated. And exercise, do HIIT - same reason. There's more... A lot more... But those seem most salient. And friends don't let friends drink from stainless steel thermices.
I just experienced an error in the matrix... I can't make this make sense... So, the lab ended at 10am, so I go to the library and studied for 1 hour, then take the elevator up to the testing center to take an exam for my bio class. I'm 100% sure I went up and had by butt in the seat no later than 1105. This test took me a little longer than usual, so after checking all the questions I public a star next to, I exited the test center at 1145. I'm 100% sure of that time because I looked at my phone when I pulled it out of the locker - bags and phones aren't allowed in the testing room. So I had 15 min before my ride would show up, so I went back to the lab to see if anyone was around. I signed in, again looking at my phone for the time. A couple minutes later, in mid conversation, I again look at my phone, and a whole hour has passed. It said 1240-something. I can't account for that hour... Its impossible for me to have spent that time in the test because they have a 75 minute time limit (and i struggle to imagine needing so much time), and its impossible for the time to disappear in mid conversation. Did we just freeze for an hour and then pick up mid sentence without noticing anything? Did the men in black use a neutralizer on me? I'm so confused....
If Elon Musk ain't a government agent, or a robotic sock puppet, I'll eat my sock. No one who thinks data centers in space will be economical (think waste heat) has an IQ over 100, and that's being generous.
๐Ÿค” for a period of hundreds to thousands of years, there will be a trash economy throughout the solar system, where the minimum bidder for trash will always be the Venutian Terraforming Project because they will be collecting mass for a man-made moon. They will be able to export basically anything, so the terraforming project will be well funded, since the intensity of sunlight is some multiple greater than at Earth's orbit. Cheap energy is the ultimate subsidy, and they'll use it to build a moon. View quoted note โ†’
I truly can't fathom how any biologist can be atheist. Watch this... Narrated by some middle schoolers, and amazingly well done... And ask your questions - I've spent more than just this afternoon needing out on this one piece of biology. Notice the driveshaft... Notice that the whole thing requires all functional parts - the driveshaft, the proton gradient, the membrane holding the acidic solution (literally a battery). Take away any, and doesn't work. There are two things happening over and over in cells - dehydration synthesis, and phosphates being used here there everywhere. Dehydration synthesis is popping off a water molecule to join two other molecules into or onto a macromolecule. Phosphates are a functional group - functional groups change the chemistry and geometry of a molecule. Water... And phosphate... Phosphor - light. Water and light. And this water and light is arranged into an array of machines vastly more complex than our best technology. This is just one. Multiply this complexity by a couple million and that gets you to one cell, maybe. #Biology #atheism #god #wow
I forgot to mention this here... I've been so busy... My biology professor brought up bitcoin while I was chatting with her after class. She brought it up, not me. She was trying to orange pill me. We're winning.
One thing I'm noticing this second time around in college is, these kids are a lot healthier than my cohort was at that age. Its weird because I'm pretty sure the food is even worse now. But there's not a single fatty in my class. And the chicks are all, like, model quality... Oh, there's another thing I'm noticing - very few dudes. I think its gotta be something like 80% female at this college. Maybe more. Probably more.
I *think*... maybe... Maybe I caught up in the class. Maybe. I still feel like I missed something. There's just nothing left to click...
I'm skipping the statin tonight. Its potentially risky because it helps keep the clot from growing, but I feel like I have to because its causing pain in a new location. I'm 100% sure its the statin. Idk why I'm telling nostr this. Last words, maybe. I also have a renewed hatred of doctors, since they told me to call if there's a problem, and I've been calling for days and they don't answer or return the call, and they also got me using their app (mychart, and its constantly trying to access sensors) but the app doesn't work if I try sending them a message. I don't like stopping a medication without consulting a doctor, but they aren't giving me a choice. I've been trying for days.
