๐ค the word, "syndicate," sounds like it should be some chick's name.

2 foods I always amazed more Americans don't know and love - kimchi and hot pot. They really know how to eat over on yonder other side of the planet
Left side temperature sensation is returning. Still can't tell hot from cold - they both hurt equally - but feeling something is different from feeling nothing. I really wish there was some way to find out if new neurons grew (I simply don't believe the thing about neurons never regrowing) or if some other pathway has been repurposed.
This is actually the best way to define a communist - see if they confuse inputs with value. A communist thinks that the correct value of a thing is found by adding the cost of all inputs, and any delta is theft. The same thinking applies all over the place, including the "no electricity no bitcoin" line. Value is subjective and entirely determined by the end user, meaning the buyer. Value travels backwards in both time and value chain, starting from the sale of the end product. Its that value that defines the value of all the inputs. If widget A is used to make widget B, but there are no buyers for B, then A is worthless. All things that go into making a thing have less value than the thing they make. Or, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
There was a wonderful book... Lila... Which fleshed this out beautifully. Basically, the purpose of a thing is the best thing that can be made from it. The purpose of all things in the universe is to "level up." Its the current state of evolution which justifies all prior forms. They existed so that you could exist. Its exactly the same concept at the heart of capitalism. And this is fundamentally why communism begins with a denial of self worth.
Bio2 lab practical today. Wtf. That was harder than the actual lecture exam. Way harder. I've never felt less prepared....
So they've used AI to compute proteins, and it did several times more than humans have ever done.... Cool.
Prediction : in the next few years, we'll hear that it turns out that it made so many errors that there's an unacceptable risk of death if you use any medicine derived from it.
Similar thought : what happens when we are clinically immortal? Its coming, and fast. Probably by mid 2030's. Maybe next week. We really are that close. If you don't believe me, spend a few minutes searching "Yamanaka factors." Then ask, are we slowing down or speeding up? Think of computation. Definitely speeding up. So for real - maybe by next week, we'll be clinically immortal.
What then? Disaster? Does capitalism break? Do we consume the earth with our burgeoning population? Collapse into some kind of mass feudalistic poverty with immortal overlords? No! Stop being retarded. What's the single most expensive thing you do in your whole life? Die. The process of dying literally consumes your life savings and then some, and then leaves you dead despite it all. What's the biggest expense for all of society? Death. Its more than the medical cost - that at least sustains legions of medical care workers, so society recoups some of the loss. The loss of expertise and the expense of training new people to fill the holes left by dead people is the real cost. So when you get younger every year, and you can live at whatever biological age you choose for practically forever (barring accidents) - how much of an expense is lifted from society? I'd guesstimate something like 1/3 of all productivity gets thrown into the black hole of death. What'll we do with an instant GDP boost of +33%, along with all following compounding effects year after year? Guesstimate - its probably more and I'm being too cautious.
Idk.

๐ค how to not be replaced by AI? Become an AI. You can have millions of agents living in your own body, seamlessly upgrading your thinking processes. A human can become millions of times smarter than it currently is.
Just a thought... the kind of thought that pops up when I'm tellimg myself that **_right now_** is the time I should go to bed to get 8 hours.
