I've met a lot of people in my lifetime to date who often pull up their "expert" cards as if it automatically warrants credibility. I believe this is underestimating the viewers and audiences. Critical thinkers verify, observed and adjust their perception about you through time. You can build your trust on the quality of interactions you have with people and not because you are an expert. In psychology there is some degree of influence to this when people hear your degree or certificates or your diploma of some sorts. But if people are often bombarded by these credentials and the betrayals of trust from these "experts", people are weary and they've learned to think critically. Me, me and me: Selfish favour that only focus his/her benefits. If the requestor genuinely think about you, they will offer a hand first as a favour before asking a favour back. It is called the art of reciprocity in psychology. There is nothing wrong with that if both parties are clear of the benefits and what they get out of it. Genuine favour begets genuine favour. Value first before getting a value back. Value for value which we stand by here on #nostr. 2. Profiter vs benefactor: wittingly people will ask a favour from you without you realising there is a financial incentive: either to lure you to comply to buy something in return of a favour. This is innocent but can be manipulative so be mindful out there. Eg. you are invited to a party in the hope you enjoy and socialise. But it is meant to be to upsell you to buy products.
