It’s not that Americans don’t want manual labor jobs that everyone seems to think only Hispanics are willing to do. Why would they work those hard hours when they can make the same money (or close to it) by scamming their way into monthly checks through a bunch of different government assistance programs without lifting a finger? Honestly NYC probably should defund the police. The main value police bring is separating criminals from the rest of society but NY judges don’t actually hand out real sentences when criminals are convicted so police are largely just wasting their time and a government employee wasting their time is a waste of tax payer dollars
