Too often we see crime go under punished because judges deem the criminal’s circumstances as worthy of mercy. Yeah he stole but it’s because he’s poor Yeah he did something extremely violent in response to a minor disagreement but his mother was an addict Yeah he sexually assaulted that girl but it’s acceptable in the country he was raised in The question isn’t whether we can understand why this person committed a crime it’s whether this person is able to follow the rules society has set or not. Crime isn’t any more acceptable from one person than it is from another

Good to see @Marty Bent at least start to talk about the national debt issue being a foregone conclusion not worth trying to solve when the country has other pressing and possibly solvable issues like an immigration crisis. Most Bitcoiners will scoff at someone saying forget about the debt but it’s the right take. It’s not “forget about the debt because it doesn’t matter” It’s “forget about the debt because it isn’t fixable and we might as well try to throw money at other issues before this thing breaks for good”
